Thoughts on Battery for '04 Wrangler LS swap

Ah gotchya! never had any issue with my rigs with AGM's but not all situations are the same, that's a good bit of knowledge to have though! never knew that AGM's were low enough resistance to cause issues

Thoughts on Battery for '04 Wrangler LS swap

Bad grounds are definitely a nightmare when dealing with electronics! I'll have to dig up a thread i found a few months ago where the OP measured out the sensors on a older 5.3 before and after adding a ground near the sensor, IE a throttle body stud and how it made the readings smoother/finer...

Thoughts on Battery for '04 Wrangler LS swap

None on my end, but yeah a good all around is a 34/78 Optima red top or yellow top. they come with adapters for different battery trays too.

Thoughts on Battery for '04 Wrangler LS swap

If you're keeping the original tray then look at what is original for your jeep, unless you are running high demand electronics a stock flavored one will be fine

Thoughts on Battery for '04 Wrangler LS swap

AGM Batteries are your best friend, Odyssey and Optima are the go to in a 34/78 series

General Tech Building a light recreational trail buggy

both fair points! Around our area is kind of the same as Greg but being closer to Moab and Sand hollow makes me want a slightly longer wheelbase and a well balanced drivetrain/gear weight in the rig.

General Tech Building a light recreational trail buggy

this is also the theme of my new build, i want light, capable, easily sourced parts, and yes QUIET! well quiet as a V8 can be without huge performance loss. if not there is still headsets and tunes. chassis ideally will be close to what you've stated but I'm going to push 120" WB. my last rig...

General Tech How would you build a rear steer axle?

I really debated the 9" stuff myself for mine cause it has tons of aftermarket support plus the pinion support bearing and the smaller packaging, but the 60 is just as common & just as well researched/supported 👌 you could do the 60/70 internals to get some beefier gears n such too...

    Update Area BFE opened?

Definitely is high, but once you factor in cost of insurance for the property, cover liabilities, repair any damages some jack ass does, the taxes on it and the possible lease/loan payment of the property, its kind of understandable. least its open and not able to be grabbed by the enviro nazis.

General Tech How would you build a rear steer axle?

if you're pumping a V6 rig that's all gears and such then yeah a 60 would hold with skill and proper line choosing 🤌 all in the driver in the end.. i plan to do some methed up psycho trailer park shiz with mine during the boring moments on a trail so yeah 14b minimum for me.

General Tech How would you build a rear steer axle?

I agree with cheston, especially when i wanted to scoot home at mach jesus. click the button and haul booty. rear steer tends to wander like an orbital. the rtc takes that away
