    KTM 125 SX issue

So, to update this thread, I sent the cylinder to Millennium (because they had a week lead time plus a week shipping each way and Power Seal was a 4 week lead time plus a week shipping each way), got it back and installed with a new piston....and it ran exactly the same. So I replaced the CDI...

    Nate’s longterm tiny shop build

Yep. But they won't let me self-build a building on my own property (just like was done 100 years ago) without all the permits, plans, engineering, fees, etc. Not that I'm going to cave and give into their demands.

    Political So now what

Thank you @Stephen for the nice watered down explanation that I have time to read and can understand.

    Gawynz Manche Thread

I had a 91 GMC that I didn't drive much. Every year I would have to drive it enough to drain the tank, put fresh fuel in and drive it a bit more before it would pass emissions. I would get the temp and do what the guy says, drive it. Then make sure you put a full tank of fresh fuel in it before...

    Your Pic of The Day

Yes, any boat that you can carry down to the water, they don't ever open the gate for vehicles. The ramp was originally intended to allow vehicles but because of the rock fall mitigation they had to install it's too narrow for your average boat owner to back a trailer down. You should really try...

Is it ok to have a "make light of" thread?

It's marked as sold, so the price must not have been too far off... :(

    Shed Building

I just built a 12x24, but it's a little nicer than most think of when they picture a shed. Finished inside with power, insulation and HVAC. My total price was somewhere around 12k. The inside was around 4-5k of that. Could have saved a little money by going with cheaper siding (I used Hardi...

    Your Pic of The Day

Teton Dam. Did you go to the museum too? Those were both stops on an anniversary trip we took several years ago. Super cool. And yes, I have a super understanding and patient wife. And I'm a nerd, especially because I worked in the industry. Did you know that Soldier Creek dam (Strawberry...

    KTM 125 SX issue

So, I did some testing with the compression tester, and it is junk, but the gauge is fine. The hose it the problem. Too much flex in it so it's not transferring the pulses to the gauge. When I tested my ATK and the kids 4wheeler I could feel the hose flexing. When I tested it with the solid pipe...

    KTM 125 SX issue

I just bought the bike a month ago so your guesses are at least as good as mine! I really just want to get it going without spending a mint. But, if it needs to be done, I'm willing to do it. I'm just closer to the farmer fix than pro racer kind of guy. Generally the only parts I replace before...

    KTM 125 SX issue

No sleeve. Nikasil plating. $400 plus shipping to get it redone from Millennium. This is a kids play bike, not a competition race bike. At the end of the day, I want it to be reliable and work, but I'm not after peak performance and "might as well" or "while I'm in there" need not apply. I want...

    KTM 125 SX issue

Update, I did a leak down test, but it was inconclusive. The PV vent is also the transmission vent. So with the vent line pinched off, it passed (that tells me that the magneto side crank seal is good at least) but with the PV vent open the air leaked out as fast as I put it in. So I put the...

    KTM 125 SX issue

I did physically check the grounds, I will try a leak down test. No idea how many hours are on the top end, or the bike for that matter. As far as the rate of the failure, it went from running great to not running at all (but starts and idles good) in ~1 second.

    KTM 125 SX issue

I got my son a 2006 KTM 125 SX a bit ago and he has been in heaven. I have also been enjoying the bike and having a riding buddy. So much fun! Anyway, on Saturday he was out on a ride with his friend and it suddenly fell flat on it's face. Won't go, won't rev without dying. It starts real easy...
