    Garage Floor Protection/Mats

The sealer is a good idea. Maybe I can sell it to the owner as an improvement and get a little bit of credit towards rent one month!

    Garage Floor Protection/Mats

I had to go to Tractor Supply this evening and was looking at them while I was there. Their size is a deterrent - I’d need a bunch of them and I’d be worried about spills getting in between and underneath.

    Garage Floor Protection/Mats

Drip pans are definitely going to be under the buggy. But I want some larger protection under and around for all of the other work I’m doing where oil tends to drip (i.e. cutting oil under the drill press, misc greasy jobs, etc.)

    Garage Floor Protection/Mats

I would hope that oil drips, etc. would be expected in the garage, but I’d rather play it safe. Yes, I plan to leave it clean when we move out, and take precaution in the meantime to keep it as close to new as it was when we move in.

    Garage Floor Protection/Mats

Painting is out, I believe. It’s currently bare concrete. I’m worried that an oil spill/leak would make its way through the carpet and onto the concrete. I’m planning to park the buggy in the garage, and it’ll undoubtedly drop one or more fluids.

    Garage Floor Protection/Mats

We are preparing to move and the rental we are going into is a brand new build. As such, the garage floor is spotless, and any stains, damage, etc. will obviously be my fault. So…I’m looking into non-permanent garage floor protection. So far, I’m just thinking about some rubber mats. Home Depot...

    Bead Blast Axle Worth It?

Absolutely worth it. Cleaning off crusty axles with a wire wheel is one of my least favorite things to do. I’d gladly pay $65 for results you ended up with.

    “Cheater” 3 seat buggy build/assembly

Cockpit coming together. Hoping to finish up the wiring this weekend and see if it runs.

    Crawler Hauler

Looks good on the trailer! I’ll echo what the rest have said - loading the two campers I’ve owned has always been a sketchy experience. I anticipate that getting a camper on my trailer will be no different.

    “Cheater” 3 seat buggy build/assembly

It was a little expensive ~$100, but comes pre-wired with a bunch of extra wiring accessories. They also make a 6 switch panel if you have more accessories. In my case, I have lights and e-fans. Not planning to run anything more than that.

    “Cheater” 3 seat buggy build/assembly

Got in a little work this morning while everyone was sleeping. Gauges, ignition, and accessory switches are all wired up.

General Tech What did you work on Today?

On my 30 minute lunch break I went out and swapped the rear shocks on my DD/tow rig. These came on the truck when I bought it…yuck. Much better. Side note, that axle vent/brake tee spot looks like it needs some attention. My hands were far too cold/achy when I finished the shocks that I...

Fairly certain this is a CS130

    TBI 350 Swap Wiring Question

I think I found my answer. In my case, the black wire is unused. The brown goes to switched 12v. I’ll just leave this here for future reference.

    TBI 350 Swap Wiring Question

Sigh…here we are again. I have a different alternator plug on this swap. Red is obvious. I believe the brown is the wire that should go to 12v switched power source? Diode needed? Black??

    Crawler Hauler

I’m following what you do on this closely. I have half of the equipment this far, just waiting for a camper to come up for sale like you picked up (e.g. with a slide, dry bath, etc).

    “Cheater” 3 seat buggy build/assembly

This weekend I took two old driveshafts that came on a donor rig and made them work for the buggy. Also took an assortment of driveshaft components and made up the center driveshaft for the front 2 piece. The plan is to hard mount the carrier bearing. The other end of the slip for the center...

General Tech Simple wiring kit for Taurus fan?

I’m in the process of wiring my 2-speed fan on my buggy. I should also mention that I’m a wiring dummy, and am easily intimidated by multiple wire connections, relays, switches, etc. I used the part numbers @Pile of parts suggested, and bought this pigtail on eBay. So far, it’s all coming...

    “Cheater” 3 seat buggy build/assembly

Well, as you can tell, my build thread lacks any consistency or regular updates. I’ve been slowly plumbing and wiring things. Maybe 60-70% plumbed. And a small fraction of wiring done. I’ve also been working on driveshafts. Waiting on parts this week and then I should be able to knock out the...
