A tale of two (Ducati) Monsters

You should get the wife a Grom. If she likes it then try her out on the Monster. If she doesn't like it, build it for off road. If she likes it, you have a Grom to play with and a street riding partner! :D

I've been doing a bunch of little stuff at the house that doesn't photograph well, like baseboards and door casings, painting trim, etc. But the granite finally showed up! (They have been telling us "2 more weeks" for the last 10 weeks). And the carpet got installed yesterday...

    Cody's First Frame - 1980 CJ7 Family Trail Build

For the EFI, I recommend a Holley Sniper. I installed one in a friend's SBC swapped FJ55 and he loves it. Works really well, install was super simple.

No sprinklers here. You can kind of see it on the side of the house in the picture, but the house has a trim piece along the bottom kind of like a baseboard. There is no flashing on that trim and no rain gutters on the house so over the 25 years of rain/snow if any failure of the caulk isn't...

Finished up the flooring and got all the interior doors hung. Then went to replace a wavy piece of subfloor and found some water damage. So I spent the day replacing 13 floor joists and the rim board. Now on to getting it all covered back up.

Trip Report Hole in the Rock and a quick dose of Moab - April 2022

I didn't even try and set up my tent. Just huddled way down inside my sleeping bag even though it was way to hot for a sleeping bag. No need to cook dinner, it would have been so full of sand! And strangely, I've wanted to go back and do it again ever since!

Do you Hot Tub? Tubbers Delight

The house we just bought has an old one (from the 90's) and we have been using it quite a bit. It may get old after a while and I'm sure it will not get much use in the summer, but so far it has been really nice. We didn't run it for the first several months (drain, clean, order some parts, find...

Built a few more closets. And my wife got one painted. I'm really not excited for all the caulking I'm going to be doing! And finish carpentry in general is proving to be quite time consuming.

    AZ to UT 3/31

Will be driving from central AZ to northern UT (Kaysville and Cache Valley) on Thursday with a mostly empty truck bed. Route is Payson AZ to Flagstaff, Page, Kanab, then up I-15 to Kaysville. Cache Valley on Friday. Let me know if anyone needs anything hauled.

    Garage Door Project

This kind of crap (building permits in general) is worse than the income tax thread imo. And I despise income tax almost as much as property tax!

So is the diy carport a kit from somewhere? Or did you design it yourself and just buy a bunch of steel to weld together? I'm in the market for a shop myself and I've been researching options.

    Buying a vehicle at auction

I'm thinking about a vehicle build but since I want to replace most of the front end, it seems it might be more cost effective to buy a wrecked one. I've never done a salvage auction, how does one go about this? Do you have to have a dealers license? What else should I know?

@UNSTUCK , what's the low spot there in the middle? And the post holes? Were they just the grade you had to deal with and filling them with concrete was easier than bringing in anything else? Also, I thought you were only staying in Mesa for a couple years?
