timpanogos, you provided a great showing all day, and going up on two wheels on the Mini Baha, I must say that was a very exciting start of an awesome day! The crowd loved it! Hope to see you down here again next year. Great pictures! :greg:

_sigh_ Looked like a lot of fun...Memories... _sigh_

That mud pit looks like the same pit in 05. 06 it wasn't very deep or wet. 05 they always kept it soaking wet and there was always water standing on it. Hence the reason only 2? or was it only 1? made it through in 05. 06 just about everyone made it through, including me ;)

The mud pit was no cake walk ... I'm not sure how many made it, but those that did, were via hydroplane (balls out, very high speed crossing the starting line) - very low percentage of all players made it.

Last year several made it, just in my class. To decide 1st, 2nd, etc places they went on our times. Me and another guy tied for the fastest time through it, so they had two first places in it last year.

Yea, same problem this year, on tires also .. ended up with several ties - I tied for 2nd on tires.

maybe in the future, laser start/stop gates would solve this

Mike Stumph son of Craig Stumph was a hoot to watch. He took 4 1st's! Tire Pit was a 3 second run same for the Mud Pit and he finished 1st in Log Cross and Rocks. An electrical problem on the Baja kept him out for overall.

It was very unfortunate that he died on the race track. He did get most aggressive driver in his class though.

Ditto for the race track :(. Had he finished, he would have been a top contender for sure. He EARNED the most agressive driver award. He had the HP and wasn't afraid to use it, but he kept it under control and didn't get reckless while doing it. Great competitor and a very good show overall!
