60s are definately the direction to go, With that said by the time you retrofit an older axle to run your ABS and narrow it with new shafts and such (if you are worried about legalities) Its not any cheaper to build one. Ecspecially with the deal you get on Teraflex stuff :)

I'm really not all that worried about being legal. I'm registered in Oregon now so no inspections. I'll talk to you this weekend about it for sure though Ryan.

New wheels are in my future already.

Whether I go bolt in or build build axles its going to be a ways away.

I've got a pretty sweet king pin housing for sale out of an f350. It would be a good starting point. And if you run a wheel that has 4.75 or more back spacing you won't have any issues. I think jk axles are 65 or 66 stock. A built full width is only 69. Not too much different. Keep it stock. Then you don't have to run custom length shafts.

I'm at such a weird place right now honestly. I know I'm on the road to a buggy or at least on the road to one tons full cage and serious body damage.

I'm not going to be doing much in the near future, if I'm going to be able to afford the upgrades I need to do what I want or build a new rig I'm gonna have to buckle down for a while and pay off some bills. It doesn't matter what direction I decide to go at this point it means big dollar signs and that means saving money.

Lifting it an inch or two is one of the last things on my mind with this rig though.

For the cost of tons to go into this thing I can build another rig I can beat on seriously and keep this one for the milder stuff. I'll give it some time, pay off some bills and then make a decision.

So basically I have no idea WTF I'm doing with this thing or my wheeling plans as of right now.

Hey at the end of the day figure out what is going to make you happy and let me know how I can help. I always have fun wheeling with you

So I am thinking of putting this up for sale. With a baby on the way and with me probably getting an overseas assignment soon it just makes sense.

Reasons to sell.
1. Money, I've got enough equity in this thing to come out on top and use that money to buy another rig and build it and own it outright, no more car payment would mean more wheeling while having extra to pay off bills.

2. If I get an assignment this thing more than likely will never pass a safety inspection in Europe so it would have to go at that point.

I really don't want to sell it because its the best rig I have ever owned but like I said before I'm at the point with this thing and my desire to wheel harder and harder trails it almost doesn't make sense for me to keep wheeling a rig I'm paying for every month.

I would love to keep it and get another rig to beat on but that's not an option right now. The more I think about it the more it makes sense even though I really don't want to do it.

If I do sell it it likely won't go up until the end of the month when I find out if I'm going anywhere. That also gives me time to think about it.

The budget is a harsh mistress.

It'll suck if you decide to sell, because this rig is so you. I think you're smart to look at where you want to go in the end and plan the most efficient way to get there, even if it means less fun in the near future. Good luck with your decision.

I didn't say there would be less fun. I quite enjoy the build process so I want to pick up either a stock or very mild rig. Either Cherokee, 4-Runner or something else I can build on a budget and wheel the crap out of.

Secretly this is where I am at on my double cab Tacoma too. I have a new baby, looking for a house, and I have never got the family to come out wheeling. I am thinking of building something like my old 85 4 runner again.

I'm sure whatever you decide to do will be awesome. I would miss wheeling with "The JK of XJ's" but if you got an XJ that would be cool too. As long as you're going wheeling it really doesn't matter
