Some friends and I discovered them back in the good ol' days. I have been through LOTS of different budget shocks and these were by far the cooshiest. I was blow away by how much they smoothed out the ride in our relatively light Toyota's. They were fairly cheap when I bought my last set, but you know how Schwabs prices go  Again you will have to take measurements and dig through their pile to find the right size. Just a suggestion--if money wasn't a concern I'd go Bilstiens hands down.

Oh i will but i need to sell some more crap to pay for the shocks first, anyone need 4.0L or 258 straight six jeep parts or TJ bumpers or a chrome CJ grill? I have had all this stuff on KSL for a couple of weeks now noo bites so its all going to the scrap yard soon

well i think it is worth a try and i do have rotbox's experience to back it up. Besides right now i'm running stock TJ wrangler shocks i got for free on the front anything is better, what i'm looking for really is better droop right now the shocks are so short my axle could drop a easy 4 to 5inches more with proper length shocks

I may have to try those shocks! I need some for the rear!

Nice build

Thanks yeah i really like the shocks plus i got a 10% discount with les schwab because im a weber state student, even my wife said it made it smoother and i used a 16 1/2 inch body shock which is perfect for my up travel and lots of droop.

Glad to hear you like them. I didn't think in a million years I'd ever buy a shock called a Mountain Ryder Extreme from Les Schwabs, but I did and they are still in good shape and riding smooth after several years.

I need to dust the cob webs off my Toyota and go wheeling with you guy's. I think I still have a Toyota anyway :hickey:

Still need to go wheeling rotbox:). Last weekend i went with my buddy out to 5mile pass and the snakes trail the shocks did great, but things got intresting at 5mile with my buddy and his full size 2500 Dodge disel with bald KM2s and no locker and a long bed. One area it got steep, lots of rocks mixed with loose rock shards and very silk like dust everywhere. He got stuck and tryed to back out and got stuck against a tree!:rofl: But we did some rock moving and carful driveing and got him turned around and i just went to the top and turned around. All and all it was a very fun trip and helped us decide what we need to do to his truck to make it better, like take out 5 leafs that the prevous owner had put in and a shackle flip and get rid of the stupid 6inch blocks.:greg:

Are you still liking your les schwab shocks? I'm thinkin about getting a pair for my 97 tacoma. I saw you said they are 16.5" shock body length. Is that correct? What is the travel like on them? And I was wondering if you have any pics of how you mounted them?

Man i need to get moer pics i always say im going to but i forget, i will add a bunch in the next few days. Oh and i got 10% off my purchase for being a weber student not sure if they do that down there
