What goes wrong with the 6.0L F*rd motors and are the issues fixed in the '05-07 trucks?
..... Marc - you're looking for a different truck now? I'm considering it too. Almost considering a duramax.
casper customs said:the problems are the head stud's that can be replaced and the egr cooler and there is a delete for it now also check out http://www.thehouseofdiesel.com/ that is all he runs is the 6.0 if I would have met him before I got rid of mine I would still have it
My '03 Dodge meets all those qualifications, and I've had zero issues with it. Of course by truck standards it's still brand new at 47k, but it almost never leaves the garage without something hitched to the back.
I have the cheapest EGR kit. The 6.0l are good motors once you get the EGR and head studs taken care of, I also have someone that reprograms the FICM and solves those issues as well.

I've looked at a few Dmax trucks. I still don't like the IFS (tie rod ends and idler arm issues)
I'd sacrifice a little time and money maintaining the IFS in exchange for turning radius and comfortable ride
My dad has a 6.0 liter and loves it. It has almost 100k and has only had the egr problem. He gets 21-23 mpg in it. I pulled my truck home with it from cali and averaged 19 pulling a trailer with a tacoma on it.
More like 11-13 and 9 pulling
Man, you guys are harsh. Great truck, the only really bad parts are from this point back.
I know, Pot, Kettle...
