After meeting with the 16 new Council members of Bore this is some of the decisions we have made.
1. We will be having a KOH / Rock Crawler class
2. We will be having a Budget class it will be an OEM Tuff Truck type class
3. The rules for these classes will be out soon
4. We will be following BITD's rule book for safety and class but adding 3 new classes to our book.
You can find BITD's rule book on their site. our rule book will be out soon.
5. Entry fee's will be lowered by not having a payback per class winner we will race for trophy's only
6. We are not going to change the name due to BLM permits but we will now be referred to as "Bonneville Racing" Not Bore.
7. Along with the cars and truck's we will be racing Bikes, Quad's and UTV's or side by side's at the events.
8. Starting in 2010 we will be using an electronic timing system for lap times. (transponder system)

These event's are going to be a whole new experience for Utah racers, there is lots of new stuff being planed that is not out for release yet but stay tuned. And yes the september 19th race is a go.

Good for us broke asses that might not finish.

So you guys following the BITD rules to a T or are 1.5" DOM cages ok for mini trucks still?
Bitd, score, snore or Bonneville the safety requirements are all the same. as for the classes most of the standard classes will be the same but we will be having a rock crawling class and a new budget truck class for the backyard do it yourselfers. and we will be racing motorcycles side by sides and 4 wheelers. the thing with no purse is we can get more people involved with lower entry fee's most of us in Utah have a hard enough time getting our vehicle prepped and to the track with out having a $550 entry when we get there. there will still be a land use fee and insurance fee that we can't do anything about and we will still have a race fee as well but doing "no pay back" will knock a few hundred bucks off of the entry. If we lower the entry fee and have no pay back and this causes the race entries to climb to 100 to 150 entries we can then get Utah businesses to sign on for contingency awards and prizes and this will be 10 times the pay back for wining that you get now. our goal is to make Utah off-road racing attractive to everyone from the racers to the sponsors and the fans. and if you win you will get the trophy and bragging rights that go with it.

For our first race we will be relaxed with the rules. we want to get everyone through tech inspection and give you a list of the things that you need to fix (if any) before next year. saftey is a big priority with us we want everyone to race hard have fun but mostly make it home. as for the 1.5" it is good up to 2000 pounds at .095 wall and up to 2500 pounds .120 wall. and trust me I feel everyones pain on this I am probably going to have to change my 1.5' main cage bars out for 1.75 unless I can shave about 300 pounds.

well in not allowing 1.5"x.120 cages in mini trucks is going to make it rough for most guys. Pretty sure MDR still allows 1.5" dont they? That may be my route... Re-build our cage and get a cheaper closer race or keep what we have and pay/ travel more but race with more guys...:-\

Any chance there will be a JeepSpeed class? I think that would be fairly successful in Utah, I would love to be on a JeepSpeed team myself. :)
