Anyone ever done this or thought about it?

I have been looking into this for a while now, to add to our list of services. It's starting to look like the interest is there. I think that CNG is really just for commuter cars as distance is always a problem. The nice thing now is that you can buy a fill station to intall in your garage. They pump about a gallon per hour, but switch off when it's full, so you can leave it on over night and you're always full in the morning. I've been pretty interested in the kits from mycngkit.com or what ever it is. They are fogger kits, but they claim almost no loss in HP. But for a commuter that would be okay. And the price is so much cheaper then an injected kit...$10,000-13,000. We might start doing installs, so if you want one let me know and we'll work something out.

mycngkit.com kits are pretty crappy..lots of hidden fees($400 to ship a 17lb box) and they are the fogger style witch is less then desirable.
I would look for the injector style system.
even more so if you are selling converted cars or trucks with kits installed by you.
dont forget non EPA certified kits do not qualify for the tax credit either.

It would be about the same. Although different kits claim different stuff. More/less milage, more/less HP. Thing to remember is that for the average car, you'll have about a 4 gallon tank, so if your car gets 25 mpg, your looking for a station pretty often. Unless you get the filler system at your house.

if you want to run 100% CNG in a Diesel you have to add spark plugs...CNG would not lite off from being compressed like diesel fuel.
cost my $3.50 to go 150 miles in my CNG contour:greg:

Ya thats what was so confusing. I didn't understand how they were doing it. After some research I found that they aren't conversions but injection kits!! And I envy you I wish I still had my CNG truck but I sure love the D-max. Well until I fill up!!
