So who are these brokers? I got two pretty reasonable quotes last week (I'm currently getting screwed) from AAA and American Family Insurance. I wouldn't mind getting an even better deal.

We Started with GMI insurance agency in Provo years ago. We have bear river but have branched to other companies insurance Bear river didn't cover (motorcycle). Our agent continues to tell us that they are the cheapest.

I don't opt for the trackers either, but for different reasons. I couldn't care less if they track me, I'll be friendly to my future ai overlords in the hope of preferred treatment when that time comes. I don't however want to know what they would charge me for insurance if they knew how I drive. On the gas, kicking ass, and talking shit on the forums. wwe-ric-flair.gif

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
And to me that’s the big problem. You will get dinged for “fast acceleration”. What does that even mean? 100% full throttle in my jeep might keep me up with the rest of traffic, who are all part throttle, coming off a red light. Who’s in the wrong here?
But it has no idea if I put my seat belt on or if I run red lights, two items I’m sure costs insurance companies lots of money.

You'd get dinged extra hard. The insurance company would be like "damn, this guy drives to and from a brewery almost every day!"

So how does a broker work? Do you pay them a separate fee for their services, or is it included in your monthly premium?

Nope it’s a free service. They get a kickback from the insurance agencies they use but that does not come from your premiums. In my experience I’ve saved money by going through a broker versus straight through the insurance company
