I have to admit, I've launched my boat once in 22 years of boat ownership, without the plug. Like someone said earlier in this thread, I ran it up on plain with the bilge on. When I stopped I hopped in the water and put the plug in. What is with these people?

I don't have that many years under my belt, but I've forgot it once, in that same harbor. I didn't notice until we got into open water and it wouldn't plane because of the weight. In two seconds I realized the problem, hopped out and put the plug in, then started pumping away.

Pretty funny that there is another one only a couple days later.:rofl:

I've fogot the plug before also (anyone who launches a boat enough has), but it has never had these type of results.

I've heard stories where people have loaded boats full of water onto a trailer and pulled them out. DO NOT DO THIS!!! The boats are built to take stress from the outside, not the inside. They'll split in two from the internal pressure.
