Looking great Kiel. Looks like it's going to be a race to the finish. I'd like to be finished in a month, but logic is telling me double that.

Lets see, got some sweet knuckles and steering arms from Mike at Summit Machine. The Reid Knuckles are setup for 5 studs but the 5th stud isn't drilled out so you have to do it. So I drilled it out real quick and reamed it to match the other 4 studs so the acorn nuts will seat properly. It went pretty smooth. I had to notch the frame for the air shocks due to the rear seat being in the way. I think it turned out pretty cool. Then I had to fab up a mount for the upper shock which isn't finished, but turned out pretty good I think.

Got my f body oil pan this week. So I threw that on and proceeded to make my fender supports and finish the rear shock mounts. Also got my 1410 axle yokes. I was thinking that I would just get the old ones off. Should be easy enough right. The rear one went fine. The front went awful took 2 hours. Finally after using the oxy ace torch got it loose.

Looks good, those yokes are HUGE! Man, that F-Body pan is a massive height difference compared to the truck pan. I didn't realize it was that much, perhaps I'll have look onto that. How much $$?

The cheapest place I could find was gmpartsdirect.com cost me 275 to my door for the oil pan, baffel, pickup tube, dipstick and indicator. I measured it and its almost 4 inches difference. Took me about 30 minutes to change everything. It pretty much makes the bottom of the oil pan and the trans pan even which is

1410's are rad.

Bigger is better right;)

Happen to have a part number for that little guy? :D Bob here at work has a 5.3 also, and would like to shrink his massive oil pan just like you did.

Does that oil pan still have the big sending unit on the side? I can't see one in the pic. I don't have room for one with the front driveline I need to run.

Yes it does, I will see if you can remove it and plug it since I have the old one laying around;)
