Buggy Build *Pics

I figured I should at least work on the buggy a little to keep motivated even though yesterday was a pretty long day. I redid the front seat mount so it leans them back real nice, plus it gives the rear seat enough room that I can stretch my legs all the way out. I cleaned up a couple welds. Then I cleaned up a little bit. Exciting huh. I had about 10 minutes extra, so I had some paint that I wanted to try out color wise so here ya go

Yep Bart all it took was 5 minutes with a spray can to steal your orange colored dreams;) Got my corvette ls1 intake manifold today, so I should get some more good comparison info and pics of that swap also. The plan for the samurai is to sell it to throw towards my house down payment project when this buggy gets running. :D

The $45 you get for that blue hunk of sh*t won't go very far towards your house payment. :D

Buggy's looking good, man. :D

buahahaha that's funny!

Send me some pics of it, specs and what you want for it and I'll pass it on. I told him about it a few months ago when he was working on his Sami and was pretty interested in it but I couldn't find any good pics... info at alljeep dot com. He's looking to buy now... Not sure if that's too soon for ya...

Very cool!
Please show detailed pics / part numbers, etc of the accessories that go along with the intake swap.

I'd love to do this to my engine as well. :D

BUT... the truck intakes are better for low-end. A recent issue of Hot Rod had a little bit of detail on this. I'll see if I can find which one.

You are correct amigo, but they are uber tall. It would be nice to gain some of that real estate back.

Nonetheless, post up with the info from Hot Rod. You may just talk into running the truck manifold after all. :D

They said something like 10 punds of TQ. Big deal. I would rather not have a huge intake rubbing my hood or breaking if i roll, also I can have a low profile and low center of gravity, by having a lower mounted engine.

Yeah, I'm using the higher torque numbers to justify not spending more money on my motor at the moment. I did like that article.

Took off the tall truck intake today and threw on the new corvette ls1 manifold. I need to do soemthing with the head/steam tubes, and maybe move the idler and water pump outlet. If not I can run it backwards and just do the steam tubes, but would have to move the oil pressure sender. I think I will gain 10 pounds of torque with just the lesser amount of wind resistance.;)
