Our house is stuffed with 2 boxers and a French bulldog. The frenchy has spent its first 7 months of life putting down thousands of miles traveling to motorcycle races. The old lady boxer is going to be 12 later this year and is still healthy but moving really slow.

Sad day for us. Our old lady boxer really went downhill in the last week with balance and strength issues. After some talks with my BIL who is a vet, we decided to put her down today. The younger boxer could tell she wasn't doing good because she was constantly by her side.

Sorry to hear, Paul... that's never easy. We had to put Daisy down this January and it was one of the hardest things I've had to deal with in a long time.

My wife and son went and picked up or dog yesterday. I’m still on the fence on wether it was a good idea or not only time will tell.

Sadly today was the end of the road for our 15 year old Beagle, Emmie.

I have been treating her for a brain tumor I first diagnosed in December 2014, expecting 3-4 months survival, so very grateful for an unexpected extra 3+ years.

Photo from March of her eating kimchi from my chopsticks. Seemed like an odd thing for a dog to like, but she loved it!

My wife sent me this yesterday. She let the dog out to go to the bathroom and he came back with a friend... I keep trying to tell myself getting a new dog was a good idea.

I've got a 36" plastic dog kennel that we bought thinking our dog would be bigger. It's just slightly too big to fit on my truck bed with the motorcycles. I'm looking to buy a 32" kennel. If any one has a 32", and wants a bigger kennel, I'd be happy to trade.

My dog is 35lbs.. kennel is for 50-70lb dog.

It cleans up nice.. but is still dusty from the 5 mile clean up..

that's amazing you got the extra years. Sorry for your loss. Our mutt is 14 years old and it's gonna probably be soon, I'd guess another year maybe. Gonna be rough having her been with us for so long.

Just have to enjoy the time and not think too much about the end of the trail.

What do you guys say about Parvo shots do you get three or four? Our dog just got his third on Monday just trying to decide on getting a fourth. For the 60 bucks it seems like it can’t hurt.

Timing is most important. Shots given much before 8 weeks of age are worthless. Series ending too soon may leave them unprotected.
Ideal is having them given by a veterinarian at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age. Buying your own isn't recommended since poor handling or storage anywhere along the line deactivates them.
Also advise bordetella at one of those visits, rabies at 16 weeks and at least a couple deworming treatments (life long monthly ideal.)
