The ONLY one I have questioned was the one with the "anti-club club" where at one point the impression that was given was if you were not a lawyer or specialist for the court room then all UFWDA needed was the guys money. I know from experience that volunteerism plays a large role as well in the minds of the public. Get 'em involved, educate them, then get thier money (haha), as more lawyers are, unfortunately, needed, as well as good comments with scientific backing for the RMP process. There is a legal and a psychological battle to win when it comes to public access. We, as a mechnaized use community, are doing a better job of the legal battle, but the psychological one with the general public remains even at best. One guy doing donuts or a discarded Mickey D's bag on the trail wipes out a full days trail clean up in the minds of the non-mechanized public land user. However, I shared your frustration with the "club" and threw in my dues to U4WDA in protest... (where are my decals!) Besides, if the individual sending the email did not have the guts to sign it and give a phone number, it doesn't count in my book. If he/she has an issue, they can always join up and vote. You'll get mine (even if your not "old")... keep up the good work! Look forward to wheeling with you someday. See ya on the trail....
Thanks for the insightful input... your comments are truly appreciated!
