Is there steering issues on the trail with a front/rear Detroit? I wouldn't think so, because they do still freewheel in a turn...

I'm starting to lean more towards the ARB f/r... I really like my selectable lockers that I have now and the more I think about losing that selectability.... It would be like going from a stick to auto. Some people love the point and drive. Me, I like the control and options... :D

there are no steering issues on the trail if you have a 2 low shift kit in the tcase. otherwise there is some loss of steering on trail in 4 low. i have a det in the front with the 2low kit and you get all the benefits of having the low range and still being able to steer..:D

That's the kind of thing that makes me want to go with ARB's... I just like being able to steer :D I rarely run my front end locked right now as it is because of this...

arb's are good, just have a lot of little parts to break :ugh: that is why i went with the det. however the advantage to the arb's is that you also have air at the end of the trails to....

I just experienced my first solenoid issue last week in over 6 years of running and/or running with guys with ARBs. For as complex as they are, they are very reliable.

I already have OBA... York setup... So adding the ARB's won't be getting the small compressor, or maybe I will, just to keep the two seperate? Doubtful...

ARB's may have a lot of 'pieces' but they are very reliable - if setup correctly!!! If not, then they will be your worst nightmare and you'd have more reliablity out of a D35 with 40" tires. ARB's are just as reliable, if not more, than a Detroit - IMO. At least with an ARB, your not shelling out another $500 if you brake an axle or joint.....On top of the repair, of course.

We've been all over the place on this in other threads. Let's not turn this thread into that. If you don't agree with me, or anyone else that doesn't agree with you, then use the PM or start another thread....

So I downloaded the link calculator and plugged in some numbers and played with some things...

So what am I looking at? :D I see the numbers moving around and the pretty graph and such  But what does it all mean? What type of numbers am I looking for in my DD Rubicon? And how important is it that I find my actual CG points and weights? I mean, I know pretty close to what they are, it's not like I have no idea...

If I must redo the weights and find CG, where have you guys gone to do that? When I found my weights over a year ago, I found a unmaned scale off the side of a small 2 lane highway and took it upon myself to drive on it. What about Flying J, or any other truck stop? I assume as long as I'm paying, they won't care what I do, huh?
