Sway Away - 52000-112 ... the invoice says they are 350 and 250, but I'm not sure. John had several front and rear springs and adjusted to the build ... I'll have to ask him what they ended up.

How do you like them? Are they a good brand? Do you have them on all four corners? Or are you running leaf in the rear?

I'm thinking 2.5" up front and in the rear probably. My Rubicon right now is almost 52/48 split on weight transfer at 4800 lbs. Moving the front axle forward about 3" and the rear back 7", will change that. So I'll move everything, then weigh again and see where it's at. Then order up the correct size and length... I'm going to shoot for 14" in the front and at least 12" in the rear....We'll see!

First you ruin JJ, now your gonna rub some salt in the wound??

How do I like them? Well they look pretty! Someday soon I’ll be able to tell you how they perform. I believe the sway away’s are one of the top brands. I have their gas reservoired shocks on the back, with normal springs … 4 link on the back

p.s. wish you were here today … it was a challenge in the mud/snow … had a blast.

Looks good... You'll have to tell me how you like the AR's front and rear.... I've been thining about adding them to the rear as well for almost 3 years now....

Thats a big b!tch. My half ton Chevy on 33's is 4620 with a half tank of gas.

I know it! I wasn't expecting anything near that heavy when I weighed it. It was my wife and I, full tank of gas, no back seat, no tools, and two small suitcases on our way home after a two day trip. I weighed it on some truck scales on the side of the road....

Update:
Just bought a 88 Ford HPD60 king pin axle - complete... So I will be doing HPD60's front and rear it looks like.... Still 4.88's and most likely still Detroit's, but I have been going back and forth with ARB's....

Good call, you certainly won't regret it.

Detroit rear, arb front?

I'll either do one or the other, not both. I don't see the sense in only going halfway....

If anything, I'd rather have an ARB in the rear with a Detroit up front - if I was only going halfway... This is so I don't have the Detroit rear quirks. And in the front, I'll have the hubs out while on the road, so I won't notice it at all. Then on the trails, it will just always be there working behind the scenes...

Did good huh? I was worried that someone would tell me that the axle wasn't a good one

The same guy also has a 89 F350 HPD60 king pin for sale... I might just pick up both, if the price is right on the second one.... I paid $1250 to my door for the first one. Still good buy? I was seeing HPD44's for that price or more.. I was also seeing HPD60's bj's for more as well....

...It's starting to look like I will be going 8 lug, too...

Actually, didn't this axle - 88 F350 HPD60 KP - have 35 spline inners (30 outers) from the factory??? How about it's same counterpart but out of a 89? Both were SRW's...

Both will be 35 spline inners/30 spline outers. 35 spline outers slide right in, just need to swap hubs or drive flanges.

The price you got it for is decent...I wouldn't call it a screaming deal, but definitely a fair price for it, especially including shipping or whatever. I've seen them sell for over $1500 in stock form.

This and steering while in 4x4 is why I wondered if arb front/detroit rear was a good combo (i.e. drive flange it with 35's). Just hook your blinker up to the gas pedal for detroit rear

I really like the locked rear (spool)-selectable (E-locker) front thing. I don't drive mine on the street much, though. I've left the front locker on a few times (accidentally) and I definitely don't have the turning radius I normally would, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

Is there steering issues on the trail with a front/rear Detroit? I wouldn't think so, because they do still freewheel in a turn...

I'm starting to lean more towards the ARB f/r... I really like my selectable lockers that I have now and the more I think about losing that selectability.... It would be like going from a stick to auto. Some people love the point and drive. Me, I like the control and options... :D
