gooses truggy (ROKHOPR)

Goose, A.F. UT.

I've wheeled my 92 yota for about 10 yrs now. Its a never ending project,
but thats part of the fun, I just wish I had a $ tree to support the habbit.

motor- Im still running a 22re 4 cyl. (I'd like to add a supercharger)

trans- stock 5 speed, (one of the only original parts still on the truk)

transfer case- dual cases 2.28 to 4.7 with a disc parking brake on the rear shaft

axles- chevy D60 front with 5.86 gears & ARB

rear D60 with D70 spindles & hardened 35 spline shafts & spool

steering- high steer with hydro assist

suspension- Im a little old school Im still runnin leaves, front&rear
(alcan springs W/orbit eyes) with rancho 9000 shocks
I also run suspension winches front&rear

Wheel base- 122"

tires- 42" Iroks , wheels- 17" X 10" rockathon beadlocks

body armor- Ive also done all of my own tube work, bumper, sliders, doors, bed.

custom bed- the bed is all 1.75" tube. I used Aluminum diamond plate to cover it with.
the diamond plate toolbox is recessed down into the bed.
(I love having all my tools & parts cofined into one space.)
I also mounted a spare rear driveline between the rollbar posts,
just behind the truck box.

winch- I run a Ramsey winch on a reciever, it plugs in front or rear
or from the bed mount on the side of the bed

Favorite trails- living in A.F. UT. I do alot of playing up AF canyon, (mineral basin, forest lake, ect.)
since five mile pass is just up the road, I like going out and playing on rattle
snake & constrictor. and I try to get down to moab as much as I can.

This truck is awesome. I've watched quite a few youtube videos of it over the last year or so.

Are you going to be down in Moab for EJS?

thanks for the compliments guys! I used to love going down for EJS. but in recent years have gotten so freakin crowded, so I usually head down on pres day & then I think Im going to go down this next weekend (cant get enough):D
the cool thing about EJS is seeing all the nice rigs, & hangin whith people from all over.

Wow, looking at this rig in person just sitting in your shop is one thing, but to see it in action...What a great rig! I only aspire to have a crawler this capable when I am finished with mine. Thanks again for the spacers, they will come in handy. And thanks for being cool and answering my newbie questions about your rig, I learned a few new things.

new cage, new housing with truss

so I destroyed My rear 60 housing in june, & just got it back together & wheellin again.
I added a truss going from tube to tube. I hope I dont ever spin a tube again.
I also finished my roll cage. I finally came up with a design that I liked & is also strong.
Ill put up a couple pics.

Looks good. I would be suprised if that tube ever spun again. Did you have the tubes welded up before?

the first housing was welded up but no truss, big mistake running a track bar & the 42"s. with out a truss tying it all together.

new suspension

I thought that maybe I should post a couple updates on here.
I recently finished a triangulated 4-link coil-sprung suspension on my truck.
WOW!!! I should have done it years ago.
the new found traction is awesome! I gained stability that the truck hasnt had since it was ifs. & the flex is awesome too!
I have been very Impressed so far & I havent even played with any adjustments yet.
there are a bunch of pics on the build thread for all to see, Ill try & post a couple more

I still cannot believe how easy you made that look. Really, really, impressive!

LT.

I think the hardest thing about that climb, is that you cant be shy with
the skinny pedal, even though that wall leans you over towards that big hole.
(being on your lid in that hole looks like a tough recovery!)

Ive made a couple changes over the winter & I thought Id post up a couple more pics.

Ive wanted to get rid of my turn signals for a while now, & open up the fenders a bit.
and at the same time add some protection to the hood & lights & fenders so this is how it turned out.
all in all the new design seemed to work real well!! :)
