gooses truggy (ROKHOPR)

Goose, A.F. UT.

I've wheeled my 92 yota for about 10 yrs now. Its a never ending project,
but thats part of the fun, I just wish I had a $ tree to support the habbit.

motor- Im still running a 22re 4 cyl. (I'd like to add a supercharger)

trans- stock 5 speed, (one of the only original parts still on the truk)

transfer case- dual cases 2.28 to 4.7 with a disc parking brake on the rear shaft

axles- chevy D60 front with 5.86 gears & ARB

rear D60 with D70 spindles & hardened 35 spline shafts & spool

steering- high steer with hydro assist

suspension- Im a little old school Im still runnin leaves, front&rear
(alcan springs W/orbit eyes) with rancho 9000 shocks
I also run suspension winches front&rear

Wheel base- 122"

tires- 42" Iroks , wheels- 17" X 10" rockathon beadlocks

body armor- Ive also done all of my own tube work, bumper, sliders, doors, bed.

custom bed- the bed is all 1.75" tube. I used Aluminum diamond plate to cover it with.
the diamond plate toolbox is recessed down into the bed.
(I love having all my tools & parts cofined into one space.)
I also mounted a spare rear driveline between the rollbar posts,
just behind the truck box.

winch- I run a Ramsey winch on a reciever, it plugs in front or rear
or from the bed mount on the side of the bed

Favorite trails- living in A.F. UT. I do alot of playing up AF canyon, (mineral basin, forest lake, ect.)
since five mile pass is just up the road, I like going out and playing on rattle
snake & constrictor. and I try to get down to moab as much as I can.

after chopping off the bed. I got started on the suspension & lcating the axle to the new W/B.
I cut 7" out of the upper links & 7" out of the lower links, including a 2" bend, to raise the lowere link.
The axle is now sitting at 114" W/B.

I mocked up one side of my mini bed. & through the pitbulls back on to cycle the suspension.......
everything looked good! Im still trying to choose my shock length ? 16" 0r 18" hmmmm....

Lookin good! I was wonderin how close to the cab those tires would be on full compression. Looks like you're losing a good chunk of weight as well. I love this build, it just keeps getting better and better.

progress

so I made quite a bit of progress over the holliday. I was pretty excited to use my bender that I buil
t last year. So I got started bending up my new frame/lower bed rails.
I was real curious to see how user friendly my bender would be? my new frame rail has a compound bend & the bend on the tail slopes in about 6*
Man, I couldnt believe how nice the bender worked! & how mch easier it was to make difficult bends! so far ive been able to duplicate what I see in my head,
(thats one of my favorite things about building)

heres the latest progres.....

If it'd be any help to you, I have the BendTec Pro program on my laptop and if there is any tricky bend you want to make it can definitely come in handy and I'd be glad to help out.

Im getting closer, i have most of the frame work tacked in. just a few mor pieces, then ill finish the bed deck & tool boxes.
I will be using the bed box from my other bed, its great for carrying gear. the new bed will have a tool box in rear deck of the bed like my old one . (21" x 27" x 7")
The biggest difference is my new Wheel base, beds departure is at 0", new bed is much lighter, new bed is 32" wide in the rear. The coilvers wil be nice as well

heres a couple more pics

made a little progress over the weekend.
I got the frame tied into the bed, & all boxed in.
I also got the winch reciever mounted . (it sits just inside the truck box) I also got the box fitted into place.
I got most of my welds burnt in.
my 16" kings will be coming this week :)
