If you wanna go slow, there's plenty of places to do it, like the right hand lanes. It's like when my (now 17yo) kid was little, one day he was breaking all the doritos in a new bag into smaller pieces. WTF? There's already small pieces in the bottom of the bag, save the big ones for me! There's the slow lane, go use it.
btw, unless I am PASSING, I drive in a right hand lane. Often times when I pull back into the right lane(s), I'll see other left lane lurkers do the same (unless they are totally oblivious). And the oblivious ones are out there, I used to carpool with one. I would just sit and twitch...soooo uncomfortable I couldn't stand it. I tried to explain it a couple times. Dunno if it worked.
And the UC comments are killing me...so true, so true. Love the one about "leaving the right lanes open to pass" I can't tell you HOW MANY TIMES I've done that, pretty much from "arm" to the point.

So, since we're assuming........you forgot to mention what this high speed vehicle is that can maintain freeway speeds.
And.....65-70, even if that's what traffic is doing, that's still not flying. I probably average 75+ to and from work everyday and that's with me still being passed by people.

I was going to get the permit but at less than $90 per ticket, even if I get a ticket every 2 months I still come out ahead. I've been driving in the HOV lane every day for over a year (I've got the same commute as you-just starting in Lehi instead of Payson
) and only been pulled over once. The cops never even bat an eye at me as I pass them in the HOV lane unless I'm blatantly speeding. But for some the $50 is worth the peace of mind from not having to worry about the cops. Understandable. With a pickup as my DD, for me the $50 a month just wasn't in my budget.Corban, I think that sucks and someone is going to flame you for it.....but I can't because I used to forgo buying the university parking pass for $110 because I would need to get 12 parking tickets to justify the cost (first is a warning).
I would normally just put the old ticket back on my windshield when I parked somewhere else, but they eventually wised up to that.

I figured I'd get flamed but I don't EVER hold up traffic no matter what lane I have to use to pass. I have pretty thick skin so flame on!
