talk about confusion between you two... hehehe

looks like you have a lot of antisquat tuned in because you have so much vertical separation at the axle and not so much at the frame. how do you like it and what coils are those? looks sweet, are you running heims or what? and is your lower axle mount above the centerline?

I have no antisquat...
The vertical at the axle is 9",
Yep heim and jonny joints..

Works very well. :)

Punk, I like the way you think. Pretty much the way I went. I am VERY happy with how it works. I have not done the math, but I am near or slightly over 100%. There is no desernable squat or lift in mine. All 4 links are 48", parallel, about 10" of separation, slighty more convegence angle on the lowers (produces a slight amount of roll anti-steer). Frt mnt of the uppers has 5 holes, lowest will bring it to about 2" of separtation. I have not played around with the other mnt holes, because I am so happy with the way it is now. I want to get out when the weather clears and play with it a little more.

As for the wa Shupee's is done, it works for him and his driving style. To me it seems like the limit strap is a bandaid. Why build a ton of AS and limit it w/a strap? Build it w/less AS ad the straps or only needed for their intended purpose, stop the shocks from overextending. With a lot of AS and a short strap, what happens in an off camber climb? When one rear drops in a hole? Ever see the photos of Jim Coles CJ role on the dome on Behind the rocks?

Definately NOT saying any one style/design is better than the another, depends on your application, your driving style, your personael preferance etc.. Ever setup is a compromise!!!!!! No such thng as a perfect link set up.

Best advice is to read, look, watch, ride, drive, and ask questions about the different set ups ou see.

Seems the trend is going away from the insane AS setups.
Stictly my opinion, I like 100-120% (I refer to it incorrectly as nutral, because to me logic says if it does not rise or squat, it is nutral.)

true stuff here. i don't know what the trends are changing too because so many people run different crazy setups nowadays... lots of AS or lots of squat... hig roll axis, low roll axis... double triangulated, triangulated uppers with parallel lowers and vice versa. things are getting crazy and they all work well for at least one situation hehehe..

as for hickeys setup here it is http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/showthread.php?t=8173&highlight=hickey

Marc another question, how did you determine the length on your links?

i am not marc but i will shoot at it. make your lowers first and place them up out of harms way at the frame and then make the axle mount for your uppers and see where you can possibly place them. the longer the better pretty much. shoot for them to be pretty close to parallel to the lowers and then make the mount with more holes above and below where you put it, on the same arc. then you can just adjust it as you see fit. another thing, put them as wide on the frame as you can for stability. same thing for the lowers, but wide on the axle. also the wider they are the less steer you will have.
