I am just a theory junky but it seems to me that if you are looking for go fast type terrain, shoot for AS numbers in the 75-80% range. better handling than 100+%robrocketanski said:how different do you think i need to have mine to deal w/ all-terrain? there are no rocks here
it sounds like alot of this discussion is geared toward very specific circumstances. (holes and off camber) i was thinking of going by that 4wheel and off road article as an all around kind of set up. seems like you can't be that far off going by the book, if you don't know what you are doing that is

sukaB said:Yah there close to that and my uppers are shorter than the lowers..We should run my numbers again..
It keeps my rear end on the ground I think alot faster and better at high speeds than the perfect rock crawl setup...
Ken Shupe's is very close to mine and I would like to say that both of our buggies go anywhere they want as long as we don't screw them up driving.
I also think it's why me and him teamed up and spotted for each other and completely understood the jeeps reaction to the terrain and kicked butt our first times together...
If you look back at the last year of comps my buggie was very reliable and made it up all of the obstacles that it attempted..I made it up everything I tried at Supercrawl till my nice JUNK RCI fuel cell let me down again for the 4th time! FAWKERS.
95 out in Delta is fast enough for me...
I want a desert truck...

The links have a steep angle.
Another note:
remember that if the uppers are shorter than the lowers, the pinion tilts towards the ground as the suspension droops. So be carefull, if you shorten the uppers to get AS where you want it, you may have pinion angle issues.
