Same here! My brother and I would get one every weekly shopping trip on Saturday. My favorites were the Matchbox cars we’d get from the local drug store because they’d have to unlock the display case to get them for you. 😂

This is the unopened stash for my boys:



I don't have a exact count, but over 100 Matchbox cars, for sure.
Why do we have that many? Well, my Aunt is a bit of a pack rat, and at some point I must have told her that I liked HotWheels/Matchbox cars, so she started buying them. My dad and I are currently helping her clean up her house, and this is the haul.
I'm using them as barter with my two year old. If I need him to do something or he's been good, he gets a Matchbox. It's fantastic. He just lights up, huge smile and says, "CAR! CAAAAR!!!!" Worth it every time.
