Moab moto ride! March 2nd & 3rd

As discussed in the 'Where do you want to ride' thread in here, a few of us discussed a Moab ride sooner rather than later. We talked about the 1st weekend in March and the dates of March 2nd and 3rd.

Von and Paul talked about coming down, you guys want to start on Friday the 1st? Or Saturday? Doesn't matter to me, but I have Friday off.

We talked about riding the Sovereign Trail.... a very rocky, tight singletrack North of town. Beyond that, I'm game for anything else. Some Whitewash action? I don't know the trails out that way, so hopefully someone else does?

I'm opening this up, but prefer to keep the group smaller... less than 5-6, IMO. Bikes don't have to be plated.

As for lodging, probably a cabin or tent... unless hotel rates are still decent.

Ride Plan -

Friday (Half Day) - Slickrock (Hells Revenge) and Fins and Things. Meet at the Slickrock Trail parking lot at 10 AM!

Saturday - Sovereign Trail and 7 Mile Rim. Meet at the Shell Gas station North of town.

Sunday - ????

I don't ride on Sundays, So I would totally be down for a Friday start. I would love to join the group if allowed.

I have no problem with that, what do you ride and are you good with technical stuff?

We will have to see about Friday, every time I've ridden Moab and tried to ride 3 days I only make it 2! If the other guys are showing up on Saturday, perhaps we could do an easier afternoon ride?

I ride a 2000 YZ250 2 stroke. I am fairly experienced with trail riding..

I know it does, if I had any vacation to spare this year I would take the time off. As is i'm squeaking every hour for the planned vactions.

Should be a fun trip

Most hotels in Moab consider "the busy season" to be March 1st through October 31st. You will be just missing the good hotel rates, most likely.

I'm in, with my trusty old DRZ. Arrive Thursday night, first ride Friday morning, then leave late Saturday or early Sunday works best for me.
