Another route to amasa back. it it further up the canyon and is a trail up the cliff to the north in the same valley that kane creek is in.

Those with pictures and stories (i.e. the actual participants), rather they finished via strap or on their own have actually been out wheeling and hence have done the trail.
I could drag damn near any rig through Pritchett--I mean Pritchett is barely a 3 until the last 1/2 mile or so when you get to Rocker Knocker, axle hill, and rock pile. With enough force I could pull a ugo up those obstacles I guess. But does that count?
Maybe for a trail to truly be a 5 rated trail.... it should be mandatory to drag a Ugo through it. :brett:
...radiator rapids...
Which part of the trail is Radiator Rapids?
you're taking this semantic discussion a little too personally.
The "symantics" part of this thread might do well as its own topic.
.... since every day someone who gets in over their head starts a new bypass.
I think a rating that has actual ratting vs. bypasses rating would be useful but difficult since every day someone who gets in over their head starts a new bypass.

Now for trail ratings. I have not done very many trails around here so I cannot rate them but I am interested in the list. I feel that a trail rating should be done as if there were no by passes. That way someone who wants to do a trail can have a better idea if they want to try it. It would be nice to also have a minimum rating that indicates that there are by passes and what the rating toughest of the by passes is. That would give the trail a minimum rating that all rigs will have to do in order to complete it under their own power (driving skill not included).
Example: If a tral is a 5/3+, then I would expect to have to strap/winch my rig at least once somewhere along the trail if I do all the hard lines on all of the obstacles. But I could also take an average lifted 4x4 vehicle with open diffs and complete the trail too by use of the by passes.
Now if the a trail rating had only one value then that would mean that at some point there is an obstacle that has no by pass and you must get over it (wether by driving, strap or winch) in order to get to the end of the trail.
Anyway if I was to write a trail book that is how I would do my ratings so anyone can tell if their rig should be able to handle it.

Killer Kane 9 621571E 4262195N (UTM Nad 27) This trail deadends at 2.17 miles. This is an extremely dangerous trail , the worst in Moab, with obstacles off the charts that tilt you towards the canyon bottom 1,000 feet below (twice as high as Cliff Hanger). It as well is blocked a lot due to rock fall so it's best to scout out ahead. Places to turn around are few and far between. if you venture out on this trail you will cross Kane Creek just prior to one tenth of a mile. This Creek has quicksand that can swallow your rig as well as high water that is difficult to measure it's force. If the water is high, avoid this trail. Most folks don't wear seat belts on this trail because it isn't going to save you if you fall off and might keep you from bailing in the event you start going over. I walked it and it scared the bejesus out of me. Then again I hate heights....jumpout of perfectly good airplanes but hate heights.....go figure.
where is double whammy on Golden Spike at?
