Thanks Dave. I was gonna ask if you are on RME! Thanks. Now I just need to find time to put them in before Moab at the end of April. And some new lifters in the engine. And I need to replace the oil cooler in my F350 again, and finish a BMW and sell it. TOO many projects.

Okay

So here is what I did to mount my ARB Air Compressor. I have very limited room under the hood. I wanted it as close to the battery as possible, out of any mud and water, and able to keep it somewhat cool. I know, engine bay.

So, without further ado, I looked at it for awhile and thought about building a steel plate to hold it. but I really don't want to add a lot more weight to the vehicle.

I finally decided to mount it to my other compressor with the help of some 1/4" All thread and some nuts and washers, its mocked up. Cost me $3.08, the cheapest mod yet. I just need a few switches, wiring, an oring for the compressor tank, and hose to the air locker.

Well a little update!

Its with sad news I have to report my really reliable land rover, has blown a headgasket. its been making funny noises for a week. I changed the exhaust gaskets yesterday to see if that was the issue. Nope.

Did a compression check. Cylinder #3 is only holding 50 PSI.

Picking up a head gasket kit today in SLC. Hope to make it a long night tonight and get it running by Monday.

So this happened. I had been trying to track a small ticking sound since i bought it months ago. I could never figure it out. It finally because a large sound the other day. kind of like a train. I pulled out my compression checker and found cylinder number 3 was only holding 50 PSI and bleeding down slowly.

So I have a month before i'm going down to Moab and this week a trip was planned for Easter weekend up to Wyoming. I could either fix my truck (Ford F350 Powerstroke, Blown EGR COOLER) or fix the rover. Since I hate working on the Ford, well the Disco got the nod.

Complete gasket kit, valve seals, engine mount and front main seal.

Still need to put the drives side of the motor together, but I need to put in the new engine mount before I hook up the exhaust manifold. And then the front main seal. It went really easily. Should be driving again by Wednesday.

I think I can make most push rod 90 degree engines fit. And atleast there are adapters from chevy transmissions to the LT230 Transfercase. The transfer case and axles are about the best things this rover have going for it. The engine, is a bit underpowered and eats gas anytime I'm going highway speeds

After a few days of pain and heartache. Its running again. Although on my test drive the serpentine belt died. I realized I installed my power steering pump pully backwards. Opps. Easy fix, new belt and flipped the pully the other way

We've all been there. Glad it's running again.

Got the old girl running again last week. I've put nearly 2000 miles on it since last week. all seems pretty good. I've had a couple of coolant leaks. I had to get a couple new o-rings from Land Rover. $11 to fix the leaks. All is well now. I still have to fix the front main seal (have the part just no motivation), fix the ARB compressor and run the hose to the rear axle. Moab in t-minus 3 weeks. way to much to do.
