we were there just a couple weeks ago, and the entire area around the geyser was bone dry. Hadn’t erupted in a long time. We have never seen it erupt like that. Almost every time we are there there is a slight bubbling is all.

Yeah, it’s a crap shoot anytime you make the trip. We’ve been lucky that it’s usually doing something whenever we go. As long as my daughter can play in the puddles she’s happy.

Me and a couple of friends decided it would be nice to canoe Lewis lake to Shoshone lake in yellow stone end of October 1996ish. I'm shocked I've lived this long.

^^^^^I did that same trip in scouts when I was about 16. That has been one of my all time favorite camping trips. I can only imagine what it was like in the winter.
