Ok this is probably stupid, but oh well. :D

This is open to anyone that wants to lose weight. It doesn’t matter how much or for those that just want to have a healthier life. We can all get ideas, and motivation from each other.

I figure that we can post up what we currently weigh also (if you want to keep it a secret then that’s fine) what are goal weight is. Also post up what you plan on doing to achieve your goal weight.

I personaly will be weighing myself every other Sunday night, and trying to update my progress here.

If you have any other ideas post them up.

Ok me first.

Age: 27
Height 6’2”
Current weight: 288 LBS on 09/18/2008
Goal Weight: 240-250 LBS

My plan: It’s not much for now, but it’s a start. I plan on taking soda pop out of my life as much as possible, and drink water in its place. Also take out candy/ sweets as much as possible. I’ve already changed my eating habits at work. I used to bring crappy food for lunch, but for the last couple weeks, I’ve been taking a salad for lunch, and baby carrots for snacks.

My work out plan for now is pretty basic JUST GET OUT :D. What finally got me thinking was a hike I attempted up Timp. I made it to Emerald Lake, and couldn’t go anymore and didn’t want to make it any worse for the hike back down:-\. So I plan on doing some shorter hikes close to home (Provo Canyon/Orem area) and build up to making it to the top of Timp.

Also going on walks as much as possible with the wife, and kid. I will also start running, this last spring I was running 2 miles a day getting ready for a fitness test for work should have kept that up. I’m sure there’s more that I will be doing, and will update accordingly.

Crap... I was going to start the RME fatass challenge myself... you should dedicate this thread to Beerman... http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/showthread.php?t=58311

I'm in:

Age: 32
Height 5'11”
Current weight: 305 LBS on 09/01/2008
Goal Weight: 210-220LBS

My plan: I've been in the gym four days per week since the 1st. I've completely changed my diet, and dropped soda (except for a diet coke, once a week after I mow the lawn and wash the cars). I haven't weighed yet since making this decision, but I already notice some differences. My legs already look different, and my pants are getting bigger... I went to a friend’s wedding Saturday, and my suit pants fit better than they have since I bought them.

In the gym I've been doing mostly cardio to get my endurance up. I had planned to start light lifting and resistance training as well this week, but I keep forgetting to change my alarm time to get up early enough to do it, and still get to work.

I've been a rubber ball over the years... I got into really good shape a few years out of high school... I had really good muscle mass, and looked ok... then I went back to school, got out of the automotive industry, and got married. I've lost as much as 60 pounds at periods in the last four years, but I've never been driven, and never been dedicated to it. I'm absolutely determined at this point.

I'm only planning to weigh every couple of weeks, but I will post progress here. I'm not really interested in a contest per se, but I think it would help to motivate each other, and have some type of E-accountability for our progress... Not everyone can be as disciplined as Beerman.

I think the humiliation of dropping out of something like this in front of my e-friends will be a little more motivation.

Nice Kris, good luck with your progress. It's funny that as you begin seeing results, your commitment level to excercise and your eating habbits get better and better.

I bet giving up on the soda and eating a helthier lunch will help a ton--there is so much sugar in soda. Also, keep late night snacking to a minimum. I stopped eating 3--4 hours before I hit the sack and I think that has helped. when I eat before bed (del taco!) I feel starved in the morning, but if I don't I feel fine. I think it's because your body is trying to digest all of those empty calories while you sleep, so you just feel hungry again.

Is there going to be a time frame?

There's not a time frame because once you achive your goal you need to maintain a healthier life style.

Of course this isn't a challenge on who can lose the most weight. For me it's a place for me to keep track of my progress, and also get input from others.

I will be weighing in every other Sunday night and posting my progress here.

This isn't a compatition just away to keep each other motivated. Knowing me I'll probbaly either forget I posted this or give up. :)

Optimum goal weight: 190-200

I've been cutting my food intake in half since last week, as I have to get healthier. Bad blood pressure in all! I'm also wanting to start running/jogging, or biking as well to get cardio up. Weights will be part of it as I have access to those here at my apartment complex and at work. I just need to be healthier and happier. Being a pork chop just ain't cutting it!

For anyone wanting to loose weight by eating healthy I would very HIGHLY recommend watching the movie "Super Size Me". It could be life altering :D

I'm hoping to start Mtn biking also, but i don't have a bike:-\.

Anyone want to donate one???:D

I need to pick one up as well! Donations accepted here! lol

Seriously. KSL. I just bought my 11 year old a great bike for $35. It's not new, but is still very functional and has a lot of life left in it. I need to get some grips for it.

I'm in:

Age: 27
Height 6' 0”
Current weight: 250 LBS on 09/23/2008
Goal Weight: to have to buy 34" waist pants and drop at least 20 lbs. Hoping my knees thank me cuz they're getting kinda pissed of late.

I have cut out soda except for one can of Coke per day. (I'm actually getting to where I don't like soda :D) I'd bet I've dropped about 10 fat lbs, but have put a little more on from riding the bike ("good weight", I guess).

I'm gonna hit the treadmill every night for a month (it's what I have time for nowadays) and see where that gets me. I'll start when i get back from Moab, Oct. 5.

I'll have to buy a scale. I broke our last one the other day.

In I suppose.

This will help me actually stick with losing weight. I usually go back and forth between loosing and trying to gain, but really need to lose some fat. I would be nice to finally have some muscle definition for the first time in my life.

Current Stats

5'9"
205 weighed at the gym Saturday.
Age 31. Oh man, I've never typed that out before. :(

Goal Weight
180 would be nice, but depends what the mirror says.

Reasons...

I'd like to not be fat anymore.
Also better cardio endurance for hiking and lower blood pressure.

I usually do weight training five days a week and am going to start morning cardio when I can actually make it out of bed early enough. Maybe stick to my no beer during week goal that I've been trying to do for the last few months.

I am already ahead of the game :)

I dropped 40 pounds since about April. Went from 210 to 168. Since then I have gotten back up to high 170's again, and I want to go for another shot to get to mid 160's again. Let me tell you even that much weight loss has made me feel like a new person.

I went on what I called the "value meal diet" :D What I really did was evaluate all the crap I put into my body and what I really needed to put into my body. And then I went practical about it. For me it would tought to just cut out all snacks or fast food, etc. So what I do is I just think about what I eat, and I eat just what I need to eat and no more. If I am still starving I will have just a little more. I also cut out the fries and soft drinks with lunch. So rather than proudly saying "#4 with coke" at the fast food place. I will just order a cheese burger and a water. That should be plenty for a lunch anyways. I will eat that slow, and then if I am starving I may go back in line and order somehting else if I have to. But usually I am too lazy to stand in line than to order more food because I just am not that hungry.

For dinner have a plate of whatever dinner is. But just have one plate. don't load it up, just get what you need and then don't go back for seconds. Pass on the desserts, drink water. Then after dinner no snacks. That was my kryptonite, so I would just force myself to drink only water and nothing extra between dinner and the morning.

Rusted, did your plan consist of any excercise? Or did you see your results from just the new eating patterns?
