Wow, we are the conceited one today aren't we? Just remember, it's only if the shoe fits.Nope. Aimed squarely at me.
Considering how my husband and I have chosen to build our junk instead of buying a ready-made wheeler, you are correct that I have never owned a Rubicon. I have wheeled with quite a few though and have actually driven a couple of trails in a very nicely modified Rubicon. I stand by my original statement. Rubicon's are pretty boy Jeeps, but if everyone were as awesome as some of us, it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.based on your experience of owning rubicons:amy:

...beating your junk regardless of what you have makes you a wheeler...
How do you figure that a Rubicon was built to be a "wheeler"? Rubicons are pretty boy Jeeps that were built to make people feel like they're rock crawlers...

Oh snap! Okay, my bad. Apologies to any girls on here that drive Rubicons. Now just wait a minute. I think you should amend that to pretty person Jeep, because my daughter has one and she won't drive a pretty boy Jeep.:greg:
And I'd like to say that anyone who thinks they like to wheel their standard has never wheeled an auto.
Wrong. I still prefer the manual and have and use both.
I was referring strictly to crawling rocks.... as I would not want an auto in the Ramcharger for what it's intended purpose is.
If I were to buy a new Rubicon, I would absolutely get the automatic. That way I could focus my attention to the other crap falling apart on the thing rather than shifting
I was wondering if anyone would take note of that, I half expected some anti-Toyota brand bashing to follow suit. To be clear, I think the Rubicons are neat rigs and no doubt the best out of the box 4x4 for the US market, kudos to them for a well thought out vehicle!
