Why so tall????

It wasn't intentional really. It started when I was mocking up the front leaf springs to build the cross member. In order to place the rear of the springs just under the frame and achieve the correct angle of the axle and maintain caster the front of the leaves ended up way down below the front of the frame. Resulting in that BF cross member. I also added a 2" body lift in order to get some extra clearance between the body and drive train. I suppose there may have been another way so keep the center of gravity lower but in the end, this is the height I needed in order to clear the 38-40 inch tires I was shooting for. Even now I be surprised if they fit. The tires you see in the pic are about 34" tall. There is actually only about 25" between the floor and the bottom of the frame under the drive seat. This is the max hieght allowed in the state of Utah for a vehicle with this GVW. It is also the same as my old K5 that had a 4" lift and 35's on it. But it is 7' to the top of the roof rack. The body on this is taller then my K5 was. I think I may have to flatten my tires to get it out of the garage!

Ian, thanks for the answer. :D

I suspect that's about as low as you can keep it and not have to get crazy with the chopping...

Carry on. :D

Are the 63s the ones in the pic with the block in the rear - If so, why not run a llittle arch and ditch the block? It definetly looks like a killer rig !!

No, those are the original springs with 4" blocks and a spring over and it was sill 6" too short in the rear. These are the 63's.........
