low is good though my 4runner is super low but really stable, on cliff hanger i had it so sideways my bro-in-law could reach out and touch the flat ground and we hadnt even started to tip or lift a wheel i love it, my frame height is about 21 inchs

My tacoma is 20" to the ground on 35s. I like how low it is, but it doesn't have much uptravel. This '81 feels a lot more stable than my taco.

I'm happy with the stance for now. I'll eventually french the rear hanger and make it sit level. The thought of tearing into it and doing more mods when I've barely even wheeled it is far too overwhelming. I've been working 6 months straight on it, and it's finally drivable, so i'm going to leave it like that for now.

my wheelbase is also at 114", so I don't want to go too much lower and hang up my belly on everything.

If you guys have suggestions of how to lower my front without making a new hanger and moving the shackles, then I'm all ears. Otherwise it's more work than I'm willing to do anytime soon.

steve you just havent wheeled it enough to appreciate your flat belly! when we run upper heldo and you go right over the breakover rock and have to pull me off of it i'll be glad your flat bellied too :)

I'll definitely be using my skidplate on breakover rock. I'll still probably get stuck even with the skid, because of my wheelbase.

I got my driver's side slider on tonight. Then it got too cold to work on the pass side, so I gave up.

I'd take pictures if my stupid camera were working. But it's not.

im 113 and i dont get hung up on.. that much and my belly is 17.5! i think your front shackle wouldnt hurt if it was smaller.. it might give it a differant angle and you might get more out of it.. and if its shorter it walks out less when the front end is getting light on a climb.. goose reads this but maybe message him.. im pretty sure he ran a short front shackle and it worked great! and in the rear.. french the hangers lol

the rear will definitely be getting frenched hangers, no question about that. I'll probably run the shackle an inch shorter in the rear as well.

When you say your belly is 17.5, do you mean your lowest point, or the bottom of your frame? What's george's frame height?

Oh yeah, thanks. That's what the guy who sold me the axle did (panos). I want a non-hydraulic ebrake though. But that's a great alternative.

Man, as terrible as it seems, I may be selling this rig. I'm not having any luck selling my tacoma, (that means no tow rig, no trailer, and no moab in the '81). I may just sas the taco and sell this.

I really don't want to get rid of it, but I don't want to drive it to moab, and I don't have a tow rig or trailer, and I'm not going to be able to afford one anytime soon.
