I'm running behind. My wife was late getting home from her run. If you guys don't want to wait that is fine. Will you go left or right at the first split? Number is 801 735 264 zero.

Nevermind. Not coming. Bike fell off my hitch rack. Bent my handle bars, broke the hand guard. E start is gone, brake fluid resovoir broke the cap off, plastics broken on the tank, throttle tube cracked, and that's just what I saw while picking it up out of the road. Strange thing is all the straps were still tight. Needless to say, I'm not having a good Saturday.

Wow, that's the worst! Sounds like you got more damage than Brian's bike falling off the trail above Forest Lake! How many straps did you have on the bike?

My riding buddies hitting Moab Wednesday and Thursday but its the end of the month which makes it hard to do two days together. Anyone interested in riding down with me early AM and coming home that night?

the trails are Killer Kane, Kane Creek and then back through Behind the Rocks and Pritchett This will be a fast paced ride

I'm going to try and have my bike fixed this week. I am headed to Moab to ride this Friday-Monday if you want to do different days instead. If not I understand. If I wasn't already planning on heading down on the weekend I would say yes.

I had 2 on the handlebars like normal, one on each side. And then the big hitch pin that goes inside the wheel to keep it from coming up at all. There is no reason at all for this to have happened. All straps were in place and still super tight. I found the pin that goes through the hitch pin in the road. It was in 2 pieces. The hitch pin holding the wheel in may have come out when that broke. But there was still no bumps hit for the tire to pop up.

The front tire was on the driver side of the truck on the rack. What really doesn't make sense is it is the right side of the bike that landed on the ground and drag that has all the damage. Luckily my little boy was in the truck so I didn't have the music up at all. Otherwise I wouldn't have heard it.

Sorry to hear Tyson. That sucks for sure.

We had a good ride. It was very beautiful up there and nice and cool.

I had to show you how to inspect the skidplate the day you bought it, by looping the bike on that ledge and oh so carefully setting it on the handlebars and seat, in a foot of water!

I've been leery of those pins that hold the wheels in place and are intended to use 2 straps, my hitch carrier didn't even come with one so I've always used 4 straps. 2 on the bars and 2 on either the sub-frame, swing arm or foot pegs. Having a bike come off the hitch carrier is one of my worst nightmares! Hopefully you're back up and riding soon.

I will be using the pin and 4 straps in the future. I've used it at least 15 times without an issue. Oh well. Crap happens. I will get my parts ordered with Caleb tomorrow and get it all back together by Friday morning hopefully. Moab has been planned for a couple months and I won't let this change it. Would love to have you come down and ride too Greg.
