I will be using the pin and 4 straps in the future. I've used it at least 15 times without an issue. Oh well. Crap happens. I will get my parts ordered with Caleb tomorrow and get it all back together by Friday morning hopefully. Moab has been planned for a couple months and I won't let this change it. Would love to have you come down and ride too Greg.

I would like to ride Moab once more before Winter. So next weekend? What trails do you want to ride?

Don't know. I haven't ever ridden down there. I'm up for anything. My wife is running the USA national trail championships half marathon Saturday morning but I'm available after that. Depending on when I get there I could ride Friday night and possibly Monday morning. No Sunday though.

Tyson that really sucks. I'm with Greg, loosing a bike is my worst nightmare. That is why I put them in the bed of the truck. I know that Toyota's are only supposed to haul Mtn bikes and canoes but I think you'll be alright if you put your bike back there. Just be careful:)

All kidding aside, I hope you get your bike put back together. It is way to nice a bike to be all busted up.

I usually do carry it in the bed. I was in a hurry and figured it'd save me some time just throwing it on the hitch. Bad decision. I've got all the parts picked out to fix it. Just trying to find some lower handlebar supports. Rmatv is out. With those and everything else it comes to about $350. Some of these are upgraded parts but why not spend a little extra if I have to replace them anyways.

We rode Jordan River on Saturday.
Luke and Kevin both rode with me.
Super fun day. I figured out the double set on Tuesday and about noon Kevin got the guts to figure it out too following me at the same speed.

About 10am, we were racing, first turn Luke got his front tire outside of the berm and fell off to the inside into me.
Hit my peg with his chest protector and got the wind knocked out of him pretty good and stung his hand too. So he went home. I've got some video.

After lunch around 2pm Kevin got crossed up between two ruts and shot off the side of a berm and landed on his side on the flat. Big cut were he landed on his hip.
He's fine just sore.

Both of them are fine but conditions were pretty rough, rutty and muddy and the track was pretty busy in the morning. I guess just bad luck.

Loosing a bike would suck...especially when a couple bucks will get you a fork support and allow you to securely fasten your bike.

I've used one of these every since I almost lost my Husky on the way down to Hole in the Rock. Ever since then, I've never had so much as a hint of a problem with my bike shifting no matter the carrier or the terrain (I have a hitch mount and 3 spot motorcycle trailer). In fact, I usually prefer to use my hitch over putting my bike in the bed of my truck. :)

Ya it does suck. Thanks to you though I should be back on the trail by Friday. I was able to get those lower bar supports at the edge this afternoon. Hopefully the rest of the new parts show up here tomorrow.

They were Oem but for some reason a lot cheaper than rmatv. $57 for top, bottom, and 6 bolts.

Wow, way cheaper. Through RMATV just the two bottoms are $52 and the two tops are $33. No bolts in that price. What I quoted you wast a kit that had everything you got but $30 more

Got my KTM all put back together. Thanks to Caleb I got all my parts for cheap in just a day. From the little spill it took off the bike rack I had to replace the lower handlebar mounts, electric start button and wiring, master cylinder cap and gasket, radiator plastics, handle bars, throttle tube, hand guards, and grips.

I was able to get a lot of upgrade parts that I would not have been able to otherwise without a crash. My wife goes with the if it ain't broke don't fix it crowd. I went ahead and replaced the upper and lower handle bar mounts, pro taper evo bars with the windham bend, motion pro titan throttle tube, scott pillow top grips, acerbis plastics in black (they look like factory but the bottom nut on the tank on both sides didn't line up), and I went with the endure engineering evolution hand guards. These things are beefy, especially considering the stock set was just plastic that would move if it got hit by a branch. I'm really happy with them.

Only took me a couple hours max and took it for a spin and it feels great. Love the bend of the bars. I didn't trim any off.
