I'd love to go but I have a set of rear leafs that need to go on my Excursion before Friday when we head out camping. The trail from Kirkmans is pretty technical but doable. My son rode it on a YZ 85 when he was 10. There is a nice parking area at the trailhead and you dont need plates if you start from there. The trail goes up that canyon and forks at the top. If I remember correctly you follow trail 12, but don't hold me to that. If you turn left it will take you over to diamond fork, right will take you down to the Mapleton canyon campground where you will have to turn around unless you have plates.

The road from Squaw peak to Hobble creek is open to OHV's. It's a road and not a trail so it's not as much fun to ride but there are some awesome views. It will dump you out in HC about 3 miles up the left fork that is just past the HC golf course.

Here is a picture from the top of the HC side last spring.

Hobble Creek is on my short list, and I'd love to do it this weekend but we're going camping instead. Maybe next weekend???

I'm going to AF Canyon this Thursday night. I plan on doing Mineral Basin and Forest Lake. Who's in?

Yes it is Amy. And some old guy instructor is the guy that came and checked it out for her. He was president of Utah trials or something like that. My bike must be in good shape if he still recommended it.
