I'm down for Thursday and Saturday

I couldn't resist taking a spin up AF canyon and checking it out. Steve tells no lies, Tibble Fork is open! I've never been passed the gate so it was all an adventure. I stuck to the main road and ended up in mineral base, or close to it. It was awesome. I saw two moose about 150 yards off the road. I couldn't believe they didn't mind me being there. They were more interested in eating, i guess.
I can't wait to get back and explore, especially with someone that knows the area!

Is hobble creek open? Last fall there was a lot of down timber on the single track stuff. It might need a good clean up.

With that being said there is some pretty sweet riding up Hobble Creek.

Not sure. I think we were just assuming that it was. I sure hope it is though or my plans are shot for this weekend.

For anyone who is interested, my dad has been riding the singletrack in Hobblecreek canyon for a few weeks already. He said there is no snow and very little mud anywhere. He rides from Kirkman's hollow over to Mapleton Canyon every week.

Sure sounds open to me :)

Sorry for the confusion. Here are my plans:

Thursday night --> 5:45 PM at Tibble. Bring your headlamp/headlight just in case it turns into a little bit of a night ride. :) I'll have the trials bike with me, but I promise to try my best to keep up. If the river is too deep to cross we'll ride Mineral Basin. If the water is low, we'll ride forest lake.

Saturday morning --> I'm down to ride either Hobble Creek or AF Canyon. I prefer AF Canyon because it's closer to me, but I'll go anywhere you guys go. I'll have the KX100 with me for this one.

That's a low trail, there are a lot of trails up high, but with the low snow this year I'll bet all is good.

I didn't ask him which trails he has ridden but my dad "uncle bob" has been riding them for several weeks. I am trying to get ahold of him to see if there are any down trees/snow. I'll post his reponse if I can get him to answer the phone.

Looks like I am out for Saturday morning, I was reminded by my wife I have a 5k to run. Maybe I'll hit it in the afternoon.

I have a shoot with uncle Bob tomorrow night I'll ask him then.

I won't be able to make the ride Thursday. I, too, went and ran some miles the other night (just a hair under 6.5) the difference is, I'm extremely out of shape and can hardly walk now :D I'm planning to ride Saturday still though.

I was leaning towards Hobble Creek. My only gripe with AFC is the main roads/trails (really the only thing open) this early in the season always suck on the weekends because they are so crowded.

I'm up for hobble creek Saturday still too. Do we have a time to meet down there in the morning? Around 9 would work best for me but could possibly do it earlier if we had to.

I'll be there with a buddy, I'm glad you'll be able to make it. Now that the singletrack is open, i hope to explore up above Forest Lake.
