Thanks Russ for letting me hitch a ride down with you. It was a great ride with good peeps! Even tho It was a fairly easy ride and I took few chances I still managed to put my bike out for a bit.

It all started when my seat began sliding around underneath me. The bolt holding my seat to the gas tank was gone, along with the bolt holding the tank to the frame. Next I noticed my front brake was extra squishy and the caliper was covered in fluid. Halfway thru the day my chain had so much slack it kept hanging on my tire. Once we were as far away from the truck as we planned to go I got a flat front tire and had to ride it back to the truck. After getting completely lost and going 2x as far as we had to we finally made it back with only minor wheel and tire damage. To top it all off I realized I had blown a fork seal at some point too. Looks like its time for some TLC

Edit: lesson learned I need to buy a tool kit and fender pack

Wow Derek, I didn't realize you had that many issues! Don't worry, you weren't the only one... Chestons new bike developed a rear brake master cyl leak at the start of the ride and when we were hauling ass back to the trucks, up the big wash... I hit the brakes and had NOTHING from the rear brake. I was grabbing gears and trying to stay off the front brake, due to the sand. Looks like a simple leak, but Cheston will have to report back on that one. :)

I just ordered my new springs so ill have to wait for them to show up. Sounds like a fun party tho. The bike still needs further inspection on the other issues

I'm going to try to get somewhere, not sure where, probably 5 mile pass or somewhere out that way, maybe Soldiers Pass. That is if I can get a hitch for our LR3.

I have a trip planed Saturday at five mile with a friend (now Pending weather) here is a PDF map I put together a couple days ago from some of my old gps files. Its not a complete loop but but its easy to see how it will close. I added a few options depending on riding conditions the two "4x4" trails are fun but haven't run them in a few years so its an option.

Anyone is welcome to join plan on 45-50 miles

Who's up for a ride in the Swell this Saturday? I'm thinking my bike might be rideable by then. A handful of us noobs are thinking of heading out there and riding Eagle Canyon to Eva Connover to Devil's Racetrack. Anyone want to join us? I'm thinking we'll leave Lehi around 10 AM, and start riding around 1 PM.

I have never rode anywhere near this so what is the return trip time line?
I maybe able to go. If i can get rid of this cold.

Your quite remarkable if your going to have that project done in time.

I have a Scout camp out I have been roped into. I can send my truck with them to pull the Scout trailer and not have to go. Let me talk to my boys and see what they want to do. If I go, I may leave earlier and ride the colored trails.

The swell is about 2.5-3 hours from Utah Valley. Nearest towns are Ferron and Castle Dale. I assume it'd end up being an all-day event.

Russ, are the colored trails much more difficult than Devil's Racetrack?

Blue and green are easy. I can't remember which is harder, red or orange. There is only one part that is really challenging. It's a fun climb up out of a wash that takes you over by the entrance to 5MOH. You can choose to not drop down into the wash but what fun would that be?

I'm pretty sure red is the most difficult.
