Time for another dirt bike - which one to get for a short rider?

One of the YouTube videos I watched he stated the "C" in LC and SC stood for "chassis," so I would assume they could possibly have a different frame size as well.

And I know nothing about the linkless vs linked rear suspension ha, iirc my brother's new KTM has a linkless system, but I may be mistaken.

*edit - upon checking out the 250 a little more I don't think its that bad. I think it is the mirrors that are throwing me off, but I would take them off for trail riding anyways. I don't mind the little rack and the headlight/blinkers/taillight. But the yellow on the stickers would have to go ha.

but I would be at a quandary again on seat/height vs wheel size.

250 SC - 19"/16" wheels (worse), 35" seat height (better) - easily shaved an inch to get to my ideal height.
250 LC - 21"18" wheels (better) 37" seat height (worse)

Throw a leg over a few of them and see what they're like in person. With e-start, half your short-legged problems are gone. The other half (falling over at a standstill) will still be a problem. Or you could always ride in the middle of the ruts, like I do. Then your feet touch. :D

If you want to go with a pitster, I'd be happy to get you my pricing on one. It will save you a couple hundred over msrp (remember what I quoted you Steve?). I've never bought one through them, so you'd have to bear with me on it being my first purchase there may be some hiccups. I've thought a ton about getting a pitster as a second bike for technical trails or for around camp. I saw a guy about my size (6' 200lbs+) riding one up AFC once. His had the smaller wheels (19"/16") but I'm not positive on which model. He said it was a blast because it's so small and easy to throw around.

Despite them being a "chinese" bike, I think their build quality is better than any other chinese bike and most of their parts are super nice (Fox shocks, etc). I wonder if they have a dealer day up AFC that I could go ride a couple of their models :D

Yeah Caleb that would be sweet. I still want to check them out first in person though and like Steve said, sit on a few and see what fits. I think my work is trying to get us to 4 day weeks so I should have a day to make it down to the Lindon PP.

With this weeks weather report I may definitely have a day off this week to stop by their shop.

One of my good friends has had a PP X4 150cc pitbike for about 5 years now. He is over 200lbs and rides it around behind his house all the time. I used to ride it on the PW track at Mona and race my kids on their 65's. It has held up to at least 100 hours of use and he hasn't had any problems with it. They definitely aren't as well made as a Japanese bike and you can tell, but they are way nicer than most Chinese stuff you see.

Well I'm figurin even if it lasts me half the time of a Honda I would still be getting my money's worth. Whichever bike I do get I plan on leaving stock anyways. It's just that there is some things on the PP that I actually do like better than what is offered on the Honda, and I may be willing to sacrifice premium quality to get those things. Plus either way if I get something brand new then I would be more inclined to keep better maintenance of it and treat it better than somethin I bought used and pre-abused.

The Edge only has PP's up to 150cc's, and call PP in lindon, and thy still make and can get the 230 LC/SC's but they don't have any in stock. They have a T4 250 in stock I'm going to look at when I get a chance.

Yeah, she said she didn't know when they were planning on getting any 230's in to just have "on-hand" but if I decided I like Pitsters in general, but want the smaller 230 rather than the 250, that they could order it right then, and I would just have to wait for overseas shipping.

So if I don't like the 250's size, I might have to go Honda 230, which doesn't bother me, or I might not have a bike by Memorial Day weekend, which also doesn't bother me too bad as long as it would be ordered and being shipped.

So I'm the newest owner of a T4 250 LC. It's a little tall of a reach for my legs but I think I can get the seat height 2" lower. Wish it had black wheels.

Where? Maybe, I think I'm going to go ride it right now too ha. He did have a 230 in stock but it was an older one and I liked the 250 better.

awesome, I can't wait to see it. I'm anxious to see how you like it. I think Honda and Yamaha missed the mark by not producing a model just like these.
