I put in an app about 6 month ago and it's still in review do they acctually look at those or just put that up to make you feel good.in other words are they really that slow on hireing?

Mine was "In review" for about 4 months, then one day out of the blue, I got a call about coming to a Hiring Session. Keep checking the web site!

Do you know if they've been interviewing yet? Or do they wait til after the closing date?

-Ferg-
I know they've been interviewing and hiring, but I don't how they're doing the process anymore. Like I said, I don't work for them so I'm not entirely up to date with them. Another source of information would possibly be the Employment Department.
Just remember, Preferential consideration is given to those who apply online.

DO NOT APPLY FOR MORE THAN ONE POSITION. IT SHOWS THEM YOU CAN’T FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. IT’S THAT IMPORTANT.

I was looking for where it says that, and i dont see it anywhere. could you piont me in the right direction?

Actually I can't. It use to say that, that's why I wrote it. But it appears that it doesn't say it anymore. Don't know what to say. You got me on that one!
What position were you thinking about applying for?

(The Associated Press distributed the following article on February 23.)

Union Pacific to increase hiring in 2004

NORTH PLATTE, Nebraska -- Union Pacific Railroad plans to hire one-thousand more people than usual in the upcoming year.

The company is crediting the ongoing economic recovery for the increase. A company spokesman says the company usually hires two-thousand people each year, but that number will be bumped up to three-thousand in 2004.

About 121 of those new hires will be in North Platte, Nebraska, home of Union Pacific's Bailey Yard.

The company hails the yard as the largest railroad classification yard in the world at more that 28-hundred acres.

The new entry level positions will be spread throughout California, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada, Texas, Utah, Wyoming as well as Nebraska.

The hires will join the company's training program for the railroad's train service operation.

Salaries start at 40-thousand dollars per year.

Since you applied for two jobs, what happens when you go under application status? Does it show both positions there? Just curious.
