Your apology is a good start, but if you mean what you say, I think you need to initiate bringing the LostBoyz up to the next trail maintenance party in American Fork Canyon. Only then will you see an example of the work that goes on to keep that open. I'm not sure when that will be, but we'll be watching.

I agree, NPLD is next month (Sept 27) I expect the LostBoyz will be there in full force. Be part of the solution.

Pretty hard to miss those signs. They will be having travel maps placed in the empty panels shortly, if they aren't already done. Haven't been up there this year yet.

Mistakes got made.

Sounds like he's taking responsibility and owning the mistake. At least being a member here we are able to discuss the matter and learn from it.

Others have mentioned that we have all made mistakes too.

We all need to use our best judgment, confronting a fellow wheeler who is trying to point out that our actions effect all the other wheelers........ is not smart.

There are quite a few LEO's that wheel their trucks (including me)........ If someone did that to me........ I would detain you right there until my dispatch center had a Forest Service Ranger there also, and I would then sign the citation as the complainant. Bet your ass I would show up to testify.

Lecture over. Many of us learn from our mistakes and a lot of that learning takes place when we are young.

Unfortunate about the off trail situation.. Even more unfortunate (for us) that you will be leaving, and not be around to keep an eye on your buddies.

Commendable apology, and it is certainly appreciated. You live and learn..

Off topic: where's the mission taking you?

To bad your leaving so soon and can leave the mess for your buddies and fellow wheelers to clean up. As i count it, not counting tonight you still have 29 days to go clean up at least the mess you were caught on film making:rolleyes:

Being another member, i am able to voice a side of the events, i was on the trail with xjshorty and his club, I appreciate strange cowboy for having the courage to voice this on the spot and to follow it up, (we too were displeased with the "rallying" and tearing up the banks of the lake.) but the sake of xjshorty's reputation as a wheeler and a club leader, those with the f off attitude are not a part of his club and we did make an attempt at teaching them some ethics, but received the same f off attitude. It is difficult to teach anybody that is stupid enough to tell a fellow outdoors men to f off, about trail respect and 4 wheel drive ethics. When they don’t even have enough values, common courtesy, or respect for people alone. but thanks to people like strange cowboy, if they wont listen to one, we get a group together and get people like that off the trails! where they don’t belong. Thanks again to everyone on the site for being good people with a righteous cause! xjshorty's apology is sincere; he is a fellow wheeler and does try to make a difference in the 4 wheel drive community.

x2 Plenty of time to sponsor a Lost Bozys trail clean up and I'm sure you'll get lots more help from other RME members once you follow up on this thread with a link to the thread you'll start with date and location of your trail clean up. Leaving for a mission is no excuse to clean up the mess you made now. Even if it wasn't you!

Hell my lazy ass might even show up to help, and reading this thread I didn't realize NPLD was so close, hope it doesn't snow again:rolleyes:

pretty standup admitting your bad! but x3 you should figure out a way to counter the off trail thrashing, i use to wheel everywhere when i was younger 4 wheeler trails, horsebacktrails, no trails it didnt matter in my short 12 years wheeling ive seen many trails closed now days i pack out garbage everywhere i go, you learn as you go, i belive xj and his pals will do something before he leaves and i think this will affect the clubs future trips in a very positive way, this ended up being a much more positive end to the usual forum thrashing about people not involved and would have went nowhere if the club did not have rme mebers in it

I was just going to say: JOIN U4WDA!!! and help make an even bigger difference.

I wouldn't have had a problem notifying the FS if I saw that and got that kind of attitude, since shooting out tires is apparently "illegal".

Again, a good endorsement for you club and xjshorty. How about some names of the perps? Are they on this forum?

hey I was there that day as well and just to be clear the guy that said "f-off" wasnt with Lostboyz. And about tearin up the hill side, I've been there plenty of times and seen others not associated with lostboyz goin up that hillside. Xjshorty is at least man enough to take the hit for not only his mistake but for others aswell. So props to him. And if xjshorty is really going to help clean up I'd like to know so I can aswell. And hopefully strangekowboy will be up there helpin since its important to him aswell as others.

XJSHORTY - Please call, this is the old man that joined LostBoyz at the Terraflex event. I understand LostBoyz average age was raised by 10 years. You are saying the right things. Now lets see some action.

10 years? More like 100 :p

That's no excuse at all. Why didn't you and your group say something to this irresponsible user? I keep hearing bad stuff about the Lostboyz, hope you guys are serious about rooting out the trouble makers in your group.

I was talking about being a member on rme, i met xjshorty on here when he posted a trail ride, and that was the second time out with him, and like he said he supports family orientated wheelin, which was I was there for, as for the names of the twerps with the attitude, I didn’t even take the chance to ask, as I did not want to be associated with them at all.
