While my son put the finishing touches on his Jeep last night I did a major cleaning of the shop as it was filthy and dusty from the fabrication work lately. He then backed the Jeep out of the shop to take pictures and drove it home.

Sliders match pretty well.

Amazing work on all of it. There are a lot of body lines and your bumpers match all of them. Nice Job!

Thank you.

All in all I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. It sure looked good driving away from the shop last night and he was grinning ear to ear.

Mission accomplished.

Now to find some time to get us off-road and enjoy some family time together doing what we love. I just wish work would slow down enough that I could have a day off to enjoy some family time off-road.

Have a leftover 285 80 16 that could be a spare?

I have 2 in that size.. but they both have flats and multiple plugs in them.. They are the reason I did new tires. I was spending more time filling them up then it took to just put new ones on :)
But if you think it's worth while to have one, you are welcome to them.

I decided to rebuild the motor on my KTM 300 XC. It took me over a month to get it all done but 3 weeks of that was waiting for the crank to come back from Andrew Cooksey and the cylinder to come back from getting replayed. The whole idea was to rebuild it completely with all new bearings and an “A” piston. I got it all buttoned up today but I have had a hard time finding the drive to get it done but I am glad I was able to finish it up.

While at it, I replaced the bearings in the swing arm and shock mounting points as well as the radiators and then tried to troubleshoot my starter. I replaced the bushings, put the newer better starter gears, ran a separate ground and separated the main power wire from the coil wire bundle but it still struggled to spin it fast enough to start it. I did put in a new lithium battery too. I gave it the middle finger for a few days before I start replacing parts.

I absolutely love working on bike engines. I could split cases and rebuild for therapy

With more time then money right now I started some spring yard work by cutting down a 30-40' tree that was in the way of the on-hold garage project.

I was pulling the "don't try this at home" setup with a ladder on my roof while borrowing a pole chainsaw to top as much as I could before cutting the bigget stem branch.

I only did a little damage to the house when a big branch came down on the covered patio...ripping the gutter partially off.

So this isn’t exactly what I did today, but it’s the best I can do.

I layed out and ordered every piece in this room 4 months ago. This was all done in my head and chalk lines that I put on the floor. Every piece is cut to length and welded at a fab shop, based off of my dimensions. It always stressful to order $100k worth of stuff that could be wrong if I fudge 1 dimension.

The guys at work put it all together and happily reported that it fit like a glove!
