No, I'd never heard of them. If their prices are better than Metal Supermarkets and their stuff is cleaner than the cutoffs at SSS then I'll be stoked. :D

edit - oh my goodness they're cheap! Wasatch wants $56 for a stick of 1.5x.120, Metal Remnants has it for $2.75 a foot or $16.50 for six feet, and no cut charge. That's awesome.
Keep in mind that .120 wall tube is larger than 1.25 ID, so if you're expecting your bronze bushing to press in.....it won't. :)

Finished the spare tire hitch carrier. It turned out OK. V2 planning has already started.

So IM getting ready to build dual swing outs on my van similar to the picture below. I planned on just using a couple bushings like this per side. after seeing this Im not so sure. I realize you have it swinging on a single. Whats RME say? Will a Dual bushings handle a spare tireish weight?

If you need, I could turn a bit off the bushings to get them to press-fit in.
Wrong way. 😉 You'd need to add material to get the press-fit.

We're talking 1.25" OD bushings, and 1.26" ID tube.

What Kevin really wants (assuming he already bought the bushings) is 1.75" .250 tube.

Just need to take a center punch and hammer a bunch of little interference dimples inside the tube. It won’t be a press fit but it will be a snug fit.

I haven't bought anything yet, but wouldn't 1.75 .250 tube have a 1.5" ID, or am I missing something? McMaster has the same bushing for a 1.25" bolt to fit 1.5" ID tube, I could do that if I could find the tube.

This, plus install the race with green bearing-retainer Loctite.

I have some pieces of 2".250 if you go that route. And if you need more than I have, that's a common size. Midnight 4x4 will sell you whatever length you want.

Seeing at bearings on Mccrackster are cheap and DOM can be had by the foot from Midnight, I'd avoid the bushings and go with bearings. I was going to do 2 bearings in my single hinge, I'd just do one bearing in each hinge on your design.
I told you guys V2 was already in the planning stages.
I added the receiver tube to attach my bike rack, but I attached it to the solid side, V2 will have it on the swing side so I can access my expo drawers for quick camp setup in sketchy southern UT counties without removing my MTB's from the rack.

There's a reason why so many bumper builders use Summit Machine's spindles for their swing outs. They don't snap in half on the highway like a trailer spindle has a reputation for. 😎💪

Have you seen Comp4x4's setup? They give you a sleeve for the spindle, so you sleeve your bumper and then press and weld the spindle into the bottom of the sleeve so you don't screw up the heat treat at the top of the spindle where the flex force is. Pretty slick.

I used a Comp4x4 spindle in my first TJ, it worked great for a couple years with a 33 on it. I thought they were out of business. They used to be down in Spanish Fork.
I would have done a Comp or Summit spindle but needed this one to be double sheer.

Also check out 4xinovations latch mech, they are super cool.
