I had to go look up Batty Pass Point and only found references to Batty Pass caves which are off the hole in the Rock trail out of Escalante which is where the picture was taken. I'll have to find a map and verify for sure but your post is close enough. you are up next roverrocks.

Good guess. The Waterpocket Fold/Capitol Reef is in view in this eastward looking photo. The open level area in view is Tantalus Flats with with the Tantalus Creek Road passing through the Flats before entering Capitol Reef NP where it turns northward and becomes the Pleasant Creek Road/Trail. In picture #2 which was the original picture, the hidden drop off for tiny Tantalus Creek and Canyon is 1/4 mile ahead.



Picture #3 shows Tantalus Creek and Picture #4 is a westward view back across Tantalus Flats. You are up now.
