Which Drivetrain Setup?

i know there are a few different versions of a D70, but I'm not 100% sure about what's what. There are a few different carriers and they require different bearings. I think the 70u is a smooth bottom housing. No lips to get hung up on.

The 14 bolt pinion is also located higher in the axle housing as well for better driveline angles and keeps it more out of danger.

Just the opposite--the D70's pinion is higher than the 14b. (1 1/8" vs. 1 1/2" below axle center line)
