Spotted some new to me rockart just up the canyon from our property. Was pretty pumped to find both pictographs and petroglyphs

When your son has a Tacoma and a RTT and is still on your payroll he sends you pictures like these of the salt flats during sunrise. The water on the salt flats really make a beautiful reflection. He said he needed the break from studying for finals he will take this week. Life is hard

I figured @Greg would appreciate this. On a service call yesterday for Union Pacific, they were cutting out and moving in a new section of track over a road crossing. Was pretty cool to see the welding in person.

Went back out today and put the other 6 on the truck. Had a helper today. He's been pretty eager to get out on some of the calls, and the boss man is allowing him to do it also. Now if we could only work on his handwriting. Left at 9:30 AM this morning, got back at 1:30 PM.

Looks to be a VE series Holden Ute, so you're correct, very similar to a Pontiac G8. There is a company in Denver, Left Hand Utes, who import bodies and graft them onto US-spec chassis, like the G8 and Chevy SS. That makes them road legal in the US.

When I was in Australia years ago I went to a Holden dealership and tried to test drive a Commodore or a Ute. Didn't care, just wanted it to be the V8 with a manual. Initially they seemed cool with it, but when they saw my Utah drivers license there was a behind the counter conversation and they claimed their insurance wouldn't cover an international driver. Which was probably BS because I test drove a Renault Clio RS later in the day, but whatever. Awesome vehicles. Last of the true muscle cars.

I always wondered about those axels when I was a kid. Been a loooong time since I’ve been to Lagoon.
