This wreck happened a few seconds ahead of me tonight. The driver was probably going in excess of 90 mph when he went into the wall below Spotted Wolf west of Green River. He had a small girl with him and the air bags worked perfectly. The driver appeared to be uninsured and the girl had a small cut on her left eyelid. My son and I tried to comfort the girl who was terrified and only spoke Spanish. The driver was hysterical and was acting very strangely. Fortunately an EMT arrived who spoke Spanish and was able to help.

The vehicle went into the wall at about a 45 degree angle and the debris field was pretty incredible. This is probably the best illustration of the effectiveness of modern air bags.

I will have to dig it up, there is a shop on the corner of carbon ave and 100 north in price that sells it and lots like it, they also give tours of these local areas that are absolutely amazing
Eastern Utah Tourism and History Association. Its probably the Coal Camps of Eastern Utah book that Darin and Sue wrote.

Cool, I picked that up in Helper and need to get it read. Sounds like a great resource. Sounds like you know the owners?

Anyone have contacts with the owners of Standardville?

I have met them. They do a little bit of business with my company. They are an interesting couple. For their ghost tours and other things they dress up in their old western gear and go by the names of Miss Kitty and Bobcat.

I tried to go in there once. I got out of the truck and about halfway across the parking lot and just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Just the thought of being inside the rock and claustrophobic, or tourism and busy? I am just curious why you couldn't. I did it one time when I was a kid, and thought it was pretty cool. Would I have ever lived there? No way.

We usually just feed the zoo animals, poke around the shops and enjoy some ice cream (huckleberry is the best).
We checked out the house once years ago. My daughter has no interest in seeing it which is fine by me. IMG_0957.jpeg

No, I'm good with caves and whatnot. I just remember avoiding it for years for the touristyness and then when I was going to go anyway there was some kinda sign in the parking lot that absolutely turned my curiosity off. I don't remember what it said.
