Dang….I haven’t rode a busa in years. Did 130mph in second gear, in town, on my brothers, and never again. He used to regularly do 160 down country roads.

There's a decent chance I know him. I knew several guys with Hayabusas when the bikes were new to the market.

My old 2002 in my second pic, is quite a ways from stock. It's a big-bore stroker, which is almost civil enough for the street. Unlike my 2023 in the first pic, it has no rider safety aids of any kind. I love it. :D

I assume that's you? Is there anything you can share on the GX550 Overtrail?

That is. I'm very excited about the new platform, particularly the OT+ trim. Improvements everywhere and the V6TT (also in the Tundra, Sequoia and LX600) is amazing. Drive impressions are embargoed but I can comfortably say everything about it rocks. We love our GX460, and we will looooovvvve a GX550 in the future. It's the most off-road oriented Lexus to date.

Full disclosure, I've been working with the GX product planning and marketing teams for a handful of years now. Most recently my business partner and I were working with the North America Study Team for the GX platform. We (not Cruiser Outfitters fwiw) do classes, consulting, experiential drives and training. 99% of our work has been with Toyota/Lexus but I'm actually heading to Michigan currently for an education/training opportunity with Ford's off-road program and next week doing 4x4 recovery classes for a mapping software classes. Keeps me running but I really enjoy it.

A neighbor of mine flew refueling tankers an he was able to take the scouts on a refueling flight. My oldest son was able to get right down at the base of the hose or what ever you call it and watch from there. They were supposed to make a run to Texas to do it but the weather pushed them to refuel over New Mexico. He still talks about it 10+ years later. It came up in the family text again yesterday.

I did this when I was a Scout also. Really cool memory....we were on an KC135, and all of us got a chance to go into the tail to "fly" the boom, prior to the actual refueling happened. Somewhere over Nevada, refueled a bunch of F4's.

Visiting Ford's proving grounds this week for some offroad training. We had an afternoon yesterday to visit the Henry Ford Museum. Oh.... my.... hell... crazy cool. Cars, racing, airplanes, trains, guns, manufacturing equipment, steam power, etc, etc, etc. I thought we were going to an auto museum, this place is a bit of everything. Presidential Motorcade cars (including Kennedy's ) to John Moses Browning made firearms. A couple Toyota's, Honda's and many early buggy/cars too.

I went to the Henry Ford Museum 8 or 9 years ago. I was blown away by how much and what variety was in there. Super cool!
