Your Pic of The Day

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
Feeling patriotic today. There’s a lot of horse power right there. One flew right over us. Maybe 10’ off the ground. So cool.

This guy didn’t have a care in the world. Just eating all he could with the occasional look up at me.

We had an incredible day. We decided to float the green river, starting in Green River. We put in at the museum and floated to the geyser. The weather was perfect. Everything went smooth, and we had a blast! But it only took us 1.5 hours we decided that was not enough, so we loaded up and headed north on the west side of the river and put in again just below the diversion dam. We then floated back to the museum. I think that put our total float distance at about 10 miles, and it took us about 4 hours. During the last 2 miles or so we had three really bad wind squalls kick up that would actually blow us back up river. They only lasted for just a few minutes each, but they definitely made us work hard and put some fear into us.
After floating, and then grabbing some dinner at the chow hound, we headed home. As we came out of Spanish Fork Canyon, we counted over 20 large firework shows going on at once along the horizon. They were so big we thought they were city displays, but as we got closer, we realized they were private citizen fireworks. to make it better as we came through Spanish Fork, both of the neighborhoods on the side of Highway 6 were setting off fireworks. It truly felt like the entire valley was welcoming us back! We were in total awe of the entire thing. It lasted about 20 minutes or so.
The day took us about 17 hours altogether, and I will bet about 90% of it was happy, bickering-free kids. It weren’t for the stupid, anxious dog, whining the entire time we were on the kayaks, the day would have been absolutely perfect. One of the best days I’ve had in many years!!

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
Bear Creek leading up to the Bear Creek Wier. They net fish here to give to needy (as I recall). So many Sockeyes (reds) they were head to tail and side to side across the creek and as far down stream as we walked. Fun watching the fish jumping their way up the Wier. Sadly many jumped to their death as they hit poles or concrete. More sadlierist, there’s no fishing allowed on this creek.
