The Pilling figurines are amazing. And the story of the 11th is kind of wild too.

The family who bought the Range Creek property from my great grandfather found 2 other figurines together in the canyon. At some point the figurines were separated with 2 sisters taking one each. They were put away in boxes with plenty of protection. Shortly after they were separated one of them broke in half through the heart. After that the family put them back together.

The story of the Pilling Figurines is definitely very interesting and a trip to Range Creek is very high on my list. We have a number of Range Creek artifacts on loan from the Wilcox family on display at the JWP River History Museum.

Side note: If any of you know Jeff Edwards who runs Grand Tire Pros in Moab, his dad was born in Nine Mile.

The Wilcox family is who bought the Range Creek property from my great grandfather. You may have come across the name Preston Nutter in historical records. If you do a Range Creek tour, do it with Jeanie Jensen. She is a Wilcox and spent a lot of time in the canyon as a kid and when you do a tour with them you hear a lot about growing up in the canyon. I have helped them with a bunch of tours over the last 10 years. Let me know if you need any help connecting with her for a tour.

We’ve got some newer stop signs in our neighborhood, and a particular neighbor, ‘stop sign Karen’ as he’s been named, calls the police so often that they do regular shifts at the spot. I guess my stop was not compete enough to avoid being stopped. I told the officer I have lived here for 20 years and that I am grandfathered into not having to stop. No ticket.

Those are some fatty's. Is that for the Z28?
Yep. The wheels on this car are off a C5 or C6 corvette. So the tires are larger than stock camaro tires. 275/35 R 18 in the front and 285/35 R 18s in the rear. It grips and handles the road nicely.

Recovery training for a onX maps corporate get together. They have over 350 employees, very impressive culture. About 100 of them took a recovery class 😎. We cover stuck assessment (math needs unite✋️), recovery planning, gear type, selection and ratings (WLL vs MTS vs MBS, etc) and then some actual SLP/DLP 1:1 and 2:1 winching. It's neat to see these companies investing in their employees in ways that won't directly bring them business, i.e. a mapping app company teaching off-road recovery to software engineers, customer service staff, etc.
