I have been starting and mostly stopping builds on my Jeeps for years and years, this has always been my dream. I had a YJ that changed build direction so many times that I need to start fresh and just install the parts I have been acquiring. So here she is my "about time" build. I started with an LJ, requirements to buy were Auto, Hard top and working AC. I wanted to try and get my wife to go with me again. I found this one, it had a Teraflex LCG Enduro kit with 35" tires, bumpers that were just not my style and a few little issues that I had worked out. the first time I went to head up the canyon to test her out the transmission went into Limp mode. Not the best way to start. So it sat around for 4 months. Then the adventure began. I...
The time has finally come! My new truck finally found its way home! It is a 2022 Ram Powerwagon. FULLY LOADED with every possible option minus a sunroof and ram boxes. That level 3 interior is almost too luxurious! Most of you are familiar with my love for Tacomas, so this new truck may seem a bit off beat for me. The truth is the Tacoma was an AMAZING off road rig, but we were bursting at the seams. Lately we had given up on camping whenever the whole family would be going, since it was too difficult to haul a full crews gear. I got sick of always feeling like our adventures were being limited by cargo space. I was having a hard time nailing down exactly what type of vehicle suited our needs. In hind sight it’s because our...
I joined the GXOR family . I picked up my 2008 Lexus GX470 in Dallas, TX and brought it back home to Oklahoma City, OK. Details of the rig: -130,000 miles -TB/WP, Front Brakes, Radiator, and Alternator were all replaced within the past 5K miles. (Update: TB/WP done incorrectly, had to have it redone 10/28/2021!) -lifetime Texas vehicle, so no rust at all. -No wrecks - Airbags work perfect Got it home and already did the first mod: running boards removed. Hopefully much more work to be done in the coming months/years. I have been working on this build for about 6 months so over the coming weeks I'll be catching this build thread up to where we are now! Follow the build on YouTube and Facebook: OK Adventures on YouTube OKADVENTURESGX...

As it was from when I bought it in Sept of 2006. First trip to Rattlesnake Jan or Feb of 2007. ZJ is an Upcountry Laredo package, 4.0. Came with aftermarket wheels on 235/75-15s. After ths trip on Rattlesnake, I decided that 2' of lift and 31s would be perfect. Being a cheap Jeeper, and patient. I picked up a few things passed on by others. 2" budget boost pucks, Tuff Country fixed front lower control arms, and Teraflex adjustable uppers. I did swap in new bushings. So early November 2008, I lifted the ZJ 2" and added 31s. This is as it sits today. To me, it sat well, drove well, and with the home made lengthened sway bar lengths removed, flexed well. It was this rock on Rattlesnake that made me decide on my lift originally...

Well I'm going to keep the tj and build it, currently I think it has good bones but it does need some upgrades and some preventive maintenance done to it to make it trail worthy. I thought I would post on time as you all seems to know what to avoid and what is a worthy upgrade. So here is the current state of the Jeep.

I've been wheeling and building my XJ now for about 10 years, but have lately had the urge to build a buggy. It was something that I wanted to do, but I didn't think it was in the near future... until I found this guy A couple of text's and a trip with the trailer and it followed me home. I did a little trading, so its a cheap base to build off of. Got it home and started looking, was surprised to see how well it was set up Chevy TBI 4.3. Was running when the buggy was parted out, so hopefully wont be too bad to get running again. Set up for full hydro. Has the orbital valve, remote filter and cooler installed already. Ac compressor is converted for OBA. All the solenoids and valves seem to be there, its just a mater of...
I had alluded to an upcoming purchase in the past. I made the order in early September 2019 and on February 12, 2020 I arrived in Kansas City, Mo, headquarters of VanDOit and picked up my 2019 VanDOit LIV adventure van. I made a video of myself when I picked it up - I was pretty excited. I've also revised my blog, included the video and some additional photos which I'll repeat here. The chassis is a 2019 Ford Transit 350 high roof, long wheelbase (but not extended body) with a Quigley 4x4 conversion. Engine is the 3.5L ecoboost (which is actually pretty damn fast in this big machine). Full tow package including brake controller, limited slip rear diff, navigation, heated and electric custom leather front seats. I...

His requirements were relatively rigid, which means we have been searching...
The original BlackSheep was my dream ride. Foolishly I sold her. About 3 years ago. This was the day the new owner was coming to pick her up: Most of what I learned about wheeling came from the folks on this forum while I was building BlackSheep. That was then and I regret selling BlackSheep. Earlier this year I opted to buy another TJ and came upon this 2004 Rubicon: Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone, so the build has begun...

Well I am finally almost done with my LS swap in my old CJ8. I fired it up yesterday and it started on the first try. So far everything seems to be working as expected but I haven't driven it yet due to a dead Jeep parked behind it. I know I should have been better at taking pictures along the way but here are a few. The motor is a 5.3 from an 01 GMC Yukon. It has been rebuilt with L33 flat top pistons and rods bored 30 over. It has a better cam in it. The transmission is a 4L60E that came in the Yukon, it was rebuilt with the standard improvements most put in these. The transfer case is an Atlas two speed with 3.8 ratio. To make life easier on the swap I swapped to a driver's side drop front axle. Its a 77 F150 narrowed high pinion...

So I've been mostly a lurker the last few years. I joined RME in 2003 when I was working for Rocky-Road Outfitters in Heber. I've poked around and always enjoyed reading about others adventures and everything else, but I've never had a vehicle that I felt needed a lift for my uses. I mainly poke around in the Uinta Basin and never really do what would be considered serious off roading since I know I have to be able to get home and still be able to get to work in the same vehicle. I decided to post up my current ride/project. I posted this on a blog that I haven't posted on since 2011. Here's the link Here's the most current picture, while the blog has some from the process over the last couple years. I'm not the best at taking...
Owners Name & City- Brian, South Jordan Make, Model & Year of Vehicle- 2005 Chevy Colorado Engine- 3.5L inline 5 cylinder Transmission- Automatic Wheels and Tires- 245/75R16 I have been looking for new work vehicle for some time, and decided to try to cut out my work car, and work truck by using a half sized truck. I did a lot of searching and waiting until the right deal came along. I found this 2005 Colorado that was at a stealership from a trade in. Story says it's a one owner, old couple. They traveled the country, resulting in high freeway miles. The truck is in great shape. The back seat looks as though it has never been used. The driver seat shows some wear, especially on the arm rest, but in overall I give it a 7 or 10 for...
